Boo Hoo...it’s hardball politics. Only an IDIOT would dump their vote (especially given how many eligible voters never bother) based on some stupid last minute flyer. Besides, who sitll uses flyers? Use Twitter!

Seriously, if that’s all it takes to make people change their vote then we are doomed.

I don't think FR should tolerate or accommodate serial lying and dirty tricks from any candidate. It besmirches the good people here.

Now you really wonder about the Cruzers here who say the craziest things---who's paying them? Goldman Sachs?

They tell lies here about the candidates eerily similar tactically to the latest Ted Cruz dirty trick lie. The Cruzers know the lies will fool some people, just as Ted knew that if just some Carson supporters could be fooled for just a short amount of time, it would be good for Cruz. The Glenn Beck post, the mailer---Cruz has shown, as the Cruzers on FR have shown, that there is no limit to how low they will go.

Time to do to the Cruzers what was done to the Romneyites four years ago: ban. Cruzers started their own forum anyway, from which to encourage people to stop donating to FR and making fun of wounded warriors and amputees. So there's a sewer they can go to and be at home in.

Ban Cruzers. Make FR Great Again.

Yep- Cruz reads that Carson is dropping out, and asks that those who followed Carson throw their support to him

Golly- How dirty of him! How dare he not be psychic and know that the CNN report wasn’t true!

Not surprised to hear this. Cruz supporters really sink to new lows daily. I wondered at Carson’s numbers.

You are right about something. Something isn't right.

What front runner would use a traceable account to pull dirty tricks when all they have to do is place in the top 3?

The downside would be ridiculous compared to any possible gain.

If this did come from the Cruz camp, is there a mole in the operation?

I would think so, just like the people who 'leaked' all the information about Sarah Palin when she was running for VP. If that's the case, who are they working for? The GOPee?

After seeing that mailer the cruz camp sent out why wouldn’t he do something like this?

The campaign is pointing a tweet from Rep. Steve King, who endorsed Carson, as evidence. The tweet was sent at 8:20pm EST, when Iowans were already at caucus sites.

Carson looks like he is out. Iowans need to know before they vote. Most will go to Cruz, I hope. https://t.co/lW5Js50EMA
— Steve King (@SteveKingIA) February 2, 2016

King was retweeting a report that the doctor was heading to Florida for a day. Carson said earlier in the night he was going home to grab some “fresh clothes,” but told reporters not to read into it.

I've read FR since practically Day One and elections get passionate but have never read the accusatory level of hatred, pettiness, and intimidation that the Cruz followers have against all others. It makes me even more suspicious of the honor of this candidate. Sure, people didn't like Romney or McCain, loved or hated Palin, and were often disappointed or outright angry at Bush or Dole, but these Cruz supporters are vicious and quickly angered and personal.

There is a real chance that for the first time in almost 25 years, FR will be undermined by the agenda of people who want to literally silence their temporary competition instead of build long-term electoral support.

Ben Carson was incensed as the results of Monday night’s Iowa caucuses rolled in, accusing the winner of spreading falsehoods about him at caucus sites.

Carson’s team claimed that Cruz’s campaign deliberately sent emails to supporters to spread false rumors at caucus sites that Carson had dropped out, so his supporters would caucus for other candidates.

“That is really quite a dirty trick,” Carson said speaking to reporters at the end of the evening. “That’s the very kind of thing that irritated me enough to get into this quagmire.”

“To have campaigns come out and send emails to their caucus speakers suggesting that Dr. Carson was doing anything but moving forward after tonight is the lowest of low in American politics,” said Carson campaign manager Ed Brookover.

“This is horseshit,” Rob Taylor, Iowa state representative and Carson’s Iowa co-chair, said simply.

Members of Carson’s team furnished evidence of various precinct captains alleging misconduct by the Cruz campaign.

Ryan Rhodes, Carson’s Iowa state director, showed reporters a text on his phone from Barbara Heki, a Mike Huckabee supporter. “The Cruz speakers at our caucus announced Carson was suspending his campaign for a while after caucus. They did this before the vote. Same thing happened at another caucus. Sounds like slimy Cruzing to me,” the text read.

Jason Osborne, Carson’s deputy senior strategist, read aloud another missive, this one an email from their precinct chair in Muscatine: “The guy speaking for Ted Cruz right before the vote, he was supposed to be done, he announced that there was a story on CNN that Ben Carson was taking a break after Iowa, and then stated, ‘So you might want to rethink wasting your vote on him.’”

This is not a lie it is based on the fact that Carson schedule shows him returning home to Florida rather than campaigning hard. That is a signal that he is no longer taking the race seriously and is likely about to drop out.

[[Carson said earlier in the night he was going home to grab some “fresh clothes,” but told reporters not to read into it.]]

Do you have any evidence that Cruz or King knew of that exchange between carson and reporters? It’s not very likely that either Cruz or King had heard Carson say that- and that all they saw was the CNN report stating that Carson would stop or whatever the report said-
