A senior Education Department official is apologizing for what he acknowledged was poor judgment and "unacceptable" behavior related to working on his side businesses with subordinates, failing to pay taxes on his profits and awarding a government contract to a friend's company.

The department's chief information officer, Danny Harris, who's set to testify before a congressional hearing scheduled Tuesday, received counseling but was not expected to receive any further punishment. Prosecutors declined to file criminal charges related to his acknowledged failure to report income from his side business to the Internal Revenue Service. ...

It must be nice to be part of the protected class. “Do as I say, not as I do”. Or more realistically “Suckers”.

They have their reward, as Matthew 6:2 and other verses say.

>> Danny Harris ... received counseling but was not expected to receive any further punishment.

Subject the scumbag to a thousand rounds of dodge ball.

Pathetic.

He doesn’t think he did anything wrong. It’s just what anyone would do in his position. The whole point of a high government post is to enrich yourself and your friends/relatives. (See tagline.)

You will be unsurprised to learn that Dr. Harris is a member of a protected minority and received his academic credentials from institutions historically serving the same.

Dindo Nuffin moments...

Dr. Danny Harris has over 20 years of government experience in information technology and financial management. He currently serves as Chief Information Officer for the Department of Education.

The IG investigation focused on Mr. Harris’ operation of home theatre installation and car detailing businesses. It is unclear if Mr. Harris was actively involved in the installation or car detailing activities of either business.

In furtherance of those businesses he reportedly used an official email account and paid two subordinate government employees for their work on the jobs. Mr. Harris did not report at least $10,000 in income as required by official financial disclosure reports nor did he report the income on his income taxes. He also made a $4,000 loan to a subordinate.

Mr. Harris participated on a panel that awarded a contract to a company owned by a friend. Investigation indicates his participation did not result in the contract being improperly awarded, He also took actions that aided a relative in obtaining a job at the Department of Education. That relative worked for the department from 2010-2013.

“Prosecutors declined to file criminal charges...”

Lois Lerner enjoys retirement in Florida.

Hillary scoots on the email server.

This is how revolutions begin.

The criminal-infused federal government coddles its criminal employees. Disgusting display of corruption and avarice. This bum loser should be in prison.
