It’s Iowa.
Cruz spent weeks, tons of money, and might as well been their senator.
He leaves with one more delegate than Trump, and three states he can’t camp out in for months, and is trailing Rubio in the next one.
So any of these smug Cruz people should keep that in perspective while they run around acting as if Ted is headed anywhere but to collect the vaulted Iowa trophy for most prolific butt-kisser in a caucus season.
2020 is the year that system needs to be abolished.
Well I think Cruz does have momentum seeing he was supposed to lose Iowa according to many. That definitely helps. And you are forgetting one other very important factor - Rubio came on strong last night and almost beat Trump. I suspect Trump will start to have a very tough go of it in NH over this week. It will be interesting to see how Trump does in the debate. That will probably make him or break him in NH.
I think I read Cruz had been established in Iowa for close to a year.
CRuz basically camped out in IA, for what, a year??
And it still took dirty tricks to squeak out a win. Ha!
Odd how Rubio pulled IA ads, in the weeks prior, due to how poorly he was doing....then miraculously comes in third. Team CRuz should be kissing Rubio’s ring, right now. Or, Microsoft’s...lol.

Since Last night the target on a certain Canadians back has grown larger for the same reason that he targeted Dr Carson. Note Dr Carsons supporter asked for his removal from the Illinois ballot. Also take note that it will be heard by a democrat SoS and election board. Certainly they will be more than happy to knock down the front running “conservative”

Note the timeline.
I always assumed Iowa was sort of a concession state - designed to appease a certain demographic during the election so that it is paid some attention to for a little bit before being ignored.
As disproportional as is the attention that Iowa and New Hampshire get, it’s good for the process.
Only there do the candidates actually have to meet the American voter face-to-face and day-to-day. Candidates can’t hide behind a mega-million dollar ad campaign and manufactured persona and win in those states. Like the electoral college, it helps the little guy retain some power versus the big and powerful.
That’s healthy, whether your candidate won or not.
Big retail politics come into play in March. Unless he implodes in aggravation this month, Trump should do well then.
He shouldn’t have wimped out of last week’s debate and, in effect, let his ego toss support to Rubio.
He had to win, otherwise he would look like a wasted jerk..I really liked Cruz when he opened his campaign...but he has turned me off since then, he is nothing more than a PAID, BOUGHT AND OWNED PROFESSIONAL POLITICIANS...
AND I'VE HAD A BELLY FULL OF THEM...
WE NEED TERM LIMITS.
AND Rand Paul, Cruz, and Rubio all need to surrender their Senate seats NOW...they run all over the country, and collect a pay check for a job they are not doing...no class or character in any of the three...
WAKE UP AMERICA, WAKE UP VOTERS...WE NEED DONALD J. TRUMP TO CLEAN OUT WASHINGTON. AND THE WHITE HOUSE...
Trump has to win New Hampshire so that Cruz and he can cut off Rubio...
Iowa has not picked a GOP winner in 16 years.
They will be wrong again this year.
Go Trump.
