It would have been illuminating if the article discussed who was killed and who did the killing.
It briefly mentions that the police stopped doing street checks then veers off into speculation about the weather.
Par for the course for Canadians like myself when the main stream media reports these things. The first order of the usual reports will quickly state the racial background - if white. When the racial background is studiously avoided, the chances are that the perpetrator is black. A high ranking police chief in Ontario was castigated as a "racist" for putting out demographics of criminal violence. He soon backed off.
From what I have seen elsewhere, the victims were black. A black man is sought as the shooter. Desperate pleas for citizens who were taking videos are made. Toronto's extravaganza called "The Carribeana "occurs every year to much fanfare and apparent boosts to the economy.
The downside of a large and collective "community" that spawns criminal activity is one that does not get much mention.
