“Do YOU know what the citizenship requirements of Canada are?”

No. Why should I?

But if you are an American and do not have an American birth certificate, then wouldn’t you want to know why? Wouldn’t that give you reason to question?

Say, for instance, you are sixteen and you go get your driver’s license, and you are told that first you have to submit your birth certificate to show you are eligible. What did Ted submit? He had to submit something. You know he does not have an American birth certificate, or he would have released it long ago.

A four year old would definitely have memories of living in Canada, anyway.

Is their argument now that Cruz never knew he was born in Canada?

“When I as a kid, when I was four, we moved from Calgary back down to Houston; I grew up in Houston,” Cruz said. “And when I was a kid my mother told me, if I ever wanted, I could affirmatively choose to claim Canadian citizenship because I was born there.”
