Trump’s ego can’t handle losing.
So he’s trying to find a way to exit the race if he loses in NH.
Cruz is well positioned to beat him there.
What he is doing is cementing the idea that Cruz is a cheater, and its working.

No, Trump is cementing the idea that he [Trump] is a complete mental case. He is completely unstable.
Yup. That’s what I expect from a three year old child, not from a grown up 68 year old man.
Its beneath embarrassing and its downright puerile.
Oh is that so? Than what do you call this?
Will it happen? Iowa is weird — they usually don’t pick winners.
People have been bashing all the other candidates because Trump was the “only one who would do what it takes to win. He’s a fighter!”
Yet somebody else does something and it’s nothing but how much of a scumbag they are. I guess Trump is the only one who can do what he likes so long as he wins.
I don’t get it.
No one said Carson would come in third. The difference between Cruz and Trump was about 6,000 votes. If people were voting because of their evangelical beliefs and were going to vote for Carson it’s very logical to believe that they would give those votes to the other evangelical candidate left standing which would be Cruz if they were led to believe Carson was dropping out. Oh wait, isn’t that what Steve King tweeted out? Carson is quitting, so don’t waste your vote on him.
One big difference is, Trump doesn’t profess to be holier than thou.
Definitely not for TV, that’s for sure
You’re actually taking Trump seriously on this?
Working with you, maybe. With most people it’s making Trump look like a jackass, which isn’t all that hard to do given the impression most people already have of him. (The 60% who have an unfavorable opinion of him.)
SO WHAT? Where does it say he’s suspending or quitting his campaign? I guess you could also read that and say he’s running away to join the circus.
I take it you’re a big CNN fan?
He was leaving because he wanted to change his close and he wanted to get a head start on the traffic before the snow storm came so he could travel to NH
>>Trump’s words were totally thrilling, I ate them up along with pretty much everyone else here on FR.<<
Speak for yourself there Tom. To many (most?) of us Trump has sounded like a fifth grader from the get go. Then the Trump supporters started shouting down and/or belittling everyone who disagreed with them and pretty soon the rest of us decided to just sit back and see what happened in Iowa when real votes got counted.
Exactly and that is what liberals do.
“The only thing hurting the Cruz campaign right now is that Sen. Cruz is a nice enough guy that he felt bad about what happened and apologized.”
An apology is by default, admission of guilt.
In effect, he said his staff willfully lied in an attempt to win the Iowa not really voting contest.
Lawyers have a problem with discerning the paradox involving-just because something isn’t illegal, is it the right thing to do?-offering an apology after the act is a blatant attempt to mitigate the repercussions.
Lawyers.
The sad thing is, with the voter intimidation tactic of mailing “violation” warnings along with this purposeful deceit, only won him one delegate. He has 8, Rubio and Trump each have seven.
His organization will lie and intimidate for only one delegate.
Who knows what this lawyer is capable of when something is worth cheating for.
>>Do you actually think he’s serious? He made the MSM all about him again today that’s all. A marketing genius<<
No, he’s not in the least bit serious, but if he was, his lawyers would soon tell him it was a complete waste of money.
As for the marketing genius part, if all day people are making fun of what you said, not so much genius as political stupidity.
If he keeps tweeting he could lose his massive lead in NH.
And the evidence of that fact is that Carson actually outperformed his pre-caucus polling. I get it. /s/
Very fragile ego. If he was 5’4” all the various compensations might be easier to explain as Short Man Syndrome. Maybe he was and is just a thoroughly spoiled brat. Real leaders, a Lincoln, a TR, an FDR, or a Reagan all went through major life changing traumas. Something with Trump is more than a little “off”.
