The Sacramento Kings basketball team had to cancel giving away Lunar New Year shirts celebrating the Year of the Monkey on Monday after a player noted the shirts could be deemed offensive during Black History month.
Bucks TV analyst Marques Johnson says he was called into a conversation player DeMarcus Cousins was having with the Kings operations team over the controversial shirt.
'I walk into the building and DeMarcus Cousins calls me over to an animated discussion he's having with Kings operations people. He [asks] me, "Olskool, what you think about this T-shirt? Told him a little insensitive on first day of Black History Month." They pulled the shirts,' said Johnson on his Facebook page.

A funny scenario comes to mind with all of this: In a culturally awkward attempt to rectify a Year of the Monkey public relations fiasco, some Chinese ministry official in Beijing says, " Year of the Monkey will now be Year of the NBA basketball player."
PC insanity.
Surprising since most hockey players are very sensitive guys. LOL!
The easily offended took exception to the word “niggardly” too. Just more evidence of the insanity of political correctness.
Just image if this were the “Year of the Rat” and they gave out t-shirts at the basketball game.

However, since this is also an election year, and the Democrat Party’s symbol is the jackass, I propose that we make “Year of the Democrats” t-shirts showing a drawing of a jackass’s ass. That would be “truth in advertising”!
The secondary caption would be “Democrats: Leading from the rear”.
Or “Democrats: What you see is what you get”.
Or a t-shirt with a picture of “The Democrat jackass, a tube of Preparation H” and a caption that said, If you vote Democrat, don’t forget to take this along. You’ll need it!”

If the t-shirts had said “Year of the Monkey” in Chinese, no one would have been offended.
So I guess Blacks are higher than Chinese in the new racial hierarchy of the Left.

How many thousands of years have the Chinese used this calendar and symbols? And after these many thousands of years suddenly the high priests of PC have now declared this offensive? And people caved? That’s how this gains traction.
When I look at a monkey I don’t think of black people, so why do blacks? Is it because they mostly have black fur? So do other animals.
Given that their market is in the People’s Republic of California, this is a reasonable decision. Any attempt to have fun is inherently an attempt to offend in that blighted one party oligarchy.
Yeah. I was gonna say they’re racist to equate the two in the first place.
