Mathew 6:6 is about praying, holding a conversation with God in public in order to impress others. Not speaking the truth about Christ in public. The notion that religion be excluded from public communication is post modern, and alien to American culture.
Cruz is animated by his faith, and that very faith is what drives his fidelity to the constitution.
I think he talks about God to the extent he does in public to impress others and win votes. That’s the point.

Yes, I went back and forth between Trump and Cruz. I would have been happy with either one. This did it for me, I will be voting for Cruz. Also, my whole family was avid Trump supporters. They are now voting for Cruz too.

They are NOT smarter .. they just willing to do or say ANYTHING TO WIN .. cheating, lying, telling falsehoods about other candidates, etc. etc. etc. Hillary is a prime example.
Those actions do NOT make them smarter; just more ruthless.
If the game is to win, then their methodologies are smarter - they realize that they need to do what it takes to win while we play "Mr. Nice Guy".
If your enemy is fanatical and ruthless, and you don't adopt tactics that will defeat them, then there's something wrong with claiming the moral high ground while pretending to want to defeat them "but they be so dang mean and dishonest".
Ain't no rules in a knife fight and we keep voluntarily tying a hand behind our backs - if that doesn't make them smarter, then it makes us dumber.

How is Obama's "war on terrorism" going as he plays nice with them instead of being as ruthless as they are?
How about your example, Ted Cruz, making statements about how we need to let them know that to attack is a death sentence for them and their families, or even "making the sand glow in the dark"?
McCain and Romney played nice - we got Obama for 8 years.
Since my wife's stroke, i made a vow to try to be more polite than I have been - please don't make it so dang difficult.
Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate (even if he's "rich enough to do it on his own") as the next President.
I donate to the candidate I support and you should too, else, your "support" really doesn't have any meaning.
It's even worse if you use FR and don't donate. If you are one of those who feel it's OK to use FR daily w/o helping pay to keep the lights on, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches because, functionally, you are no different than any other who enjoys the fruits of others' work for your own benefit. Also, don't be surprised if others decide that your opinions are as worthless as your non-donations - hypocrites aren't worth listening to.
PS - If you are one of those unlucky few who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

Why don’t you spend more time tending to your wife .. instead of making stupid comments.
The donate message is a general one and was not directed at you - I used to direct them at apparent deadbeats but have decided to lay off the parasites for a while.
I have been, and am taking excellent care of my wife.

I realize the Bible says to be nice to your enemies because "It will be akin to pouring hot coals on his head". Of course that assumes he has a conscience. We didn't win WWI and WWII with kindness/politeness - we carpet and A-Bombed them into submission. After that, we got into the kinder, gentler mode and haven't really won since.
