Something needs to be done..... it is a growing problem....
No offense, but "something needs to be done" is one of the most ridiculous statements anyone can make when it comes to a situation that is ultimately in our own control. This isn't a case of marauding invaders or a landslide that is threatening to inundate a mountain village. If "something needs to be done," then do it.

Sorry brother... we as society allow this problem to fester... something needs to be done... translates to... anyone dealing this drug is either executed or put in prison for life with no chance of getting out....
This drug is readily available, dirt cheap.... and is impacting society greatly....
