My son is a physicist for a large defense contractor. I asked him when he would be getting a promotion. He said he didn't expect ever because the next three positions above him were held women.

And once a woman is in any position, if it ever becomes vacant, it will be filled by a woman. I have seen this over and over. Being white, heterosexual, male, and over 50 is not welcome.

He’s right. Women circle the wagons and rarely promote a man if the can help it. “Minorities” do the same thing. It is why those companies usually fail. I’ve seen more companies destroyed by such ineptitude than anything else.

White women in the sciences (any STEM field) is the foundation of affirmative action. (per the Chroncle of Higher Education, College Board, etc.) IMO they didn’t achieve their position through merit so they see no reason to reward merit.
