The CTE has nothing to do with illegal plays. It comes from the incessant collisions that are an intrinsic and unavoidable part of the game which is now played by players who are bigger, stronger and faster than ever before.

The NFL wants everyone to concentrate on the single massive blows that cause actual concussions, not the lighter repeated blows to the brain that occurs through the course of a football career into the pros.

They have weight categories in boxing.

They should phase in a weight limit over time.

Maybe no one can be over 290 pounds.

Well it does and it doesn’t. Yes some of it is just the constant beating, but full fledged concussions, which often come from illegal plays, certainly contribute. I’ve got no problem with kicking players out who manage to get multiple personal fouls in a game. For one thing it doesn’t happen very often, and if it does the player is probably a thug. Anybody that thinks it’s wussy to kick players out for showing a blatant disregard for the rules and the safety of other players is just a tough talking moron. Really the teams should already be benching those players, anybody costing them at least 30 yards (depending on the spot of the infraction) being stupid is not contributing.
