Marco Rubio: People "born with" sexual preference

Marco Rubio said he believes that sexual preference is decided at birth, but still believes that states should be able to decide if they want to define marriage as anything other than involving a man and a woman.

"It's not that I'm against gay marriage. I believe the definition of the institution of marriage should be between one man and one woman," Rubio said in an interview on CBS' "Face the Nation." "States have always regulated marriage. And if a state wants to have a different definition, you should petition the state legislature and have a political debate. I don't think courts should be making that decision."

"I don't believe same-sex marriage is a Constitutional right," Rubio added. "I also don't believe that your sexual preferences are a choice for the vast and enormous majority of people. In fact...I believe that sexual preference is something that people are born with."

Rubio sparked a debate on the issue last week after he said in an interview with Fusion's Jorge Ramos that he would attend the same-sex wedding of a gay family member or staffer even if he would "disagree with a choice they've made."

OK. Let me get this right. Rubio, who claims to be a Catholic, has admitted he picks and chooses when to attend Mass, saying he goes to Mass one weekend and his wife's protestant service the next week. As a Catholic, this is forbidden. You have to go to Mass. If you attend another service that is not Catholic, on Saturday night or Sunday, you still have to find a Catholic Church to attend Mass. Now little Marco comes out and said you're born homosexual and he would attend a friend's homosexual wedding? Once again, little Marco, if you're a Catholic you're forbidden to attend a same-sex "wedding". This is not a real marriage and attending means you have given your approval. Can't do it little Marco. But if you get the nomination I'm sure your ignorance of the Catholic faith will get you some votes from other Catholics who are just as ignorant of the faith as you are. And the part about being "born that way", the Catholic Church teaches same-sex attraction is real for some people, and if you have it you're called to a chaste life. Thousands of people who had this attraction overcame it through Jesus Christ and now live happy, productive lives with a spouse who's a member of the opposite sex.

Apparently this is something Rubio has thought a lot about.

Marco Rubio: People "born with" sexual preference

He really does not want to win this thing. That's good, because we really don't want him to win either.

Like Obama, he will say whatever to get elected and in the process twist himself into a verbal pretzel.

Yees, of course. Because...as we ALL know, no person EVER was able to leave the homosexual lifestyle and get their head straight. Never. Ever.

Pretty sure I understand Rubio swings both ways on this issue.

Marco thought about it at one of those “foam” extravaganzas!

“Because...as we ALL know, no person EVER was able to leave the homosexual lifestyle and get their head straight. Never. Ever.”

True. I heard of one kid from Miami who was arrested cruising a park with beer and a homosexual prostitute who grew up and married a Miami Dolphins cheerleader.

He’s presumably straight, now.

Interesting sounds just like Ted Cruz to me. Same exact position. Another hit piece. Character assisintion rarely works. Rubio is surging and just Adelson’snewspaper endorsement in Nevada. It oh big non establish money there. Rubio is a conservative that can and will win.

Very true. One thing folks should think about.

If your candidate has written a book in the last year, please think about something that they said that gave you a little pause.

It will probably be a cover for some truth that may come out later about them.

tick tick tick

“”It’s not that I’m against gay marriage. I believe the definition of the institution of marriage should be between one man and one woman”

What the hell is THAT supposed to mean?!

If he believes marriage is between one man and one woman wouldn’t that, by definition, make him against gay marriage?

Cruz will never win calling the senate leader a liar publically. You may think that is funny and cool. It isn’t. There are ways to get things done without alienating people you need to be successful.

It’s strange being 47 and kind of right on the tail end of those who still believe this is the SILLIEST and most destructive social event to occur in America in a long time.

I dont know a soul under 30 who agrees with me.

it usually goes “if the republicans would stop worrying about gays and abortion hey could win”

hell, let’s pay for college too. and disarm. and give 3000 dollars a month to every family, regardless of work status.

then we’d REALLY win.

we lost the culture war guys because 50 years ago, conservatives forgot to buy a TV STATION!!!

This can be reversed though.

Dont say I was here, because I promised someone I would stay off until 8pm and actually get some chores done :)
