The Des Moines Register is accusing White House contender Ted Cruz of carrying out a "campaign of deceit," calling his actions troubling for Iowa Republican voters.
The state's paper of record charged the Cruz campaign with peddling "pure, unadulterated fiction" when it sent voting mailers that appeared to be from the government.
The mailers told voters they had received a "voting violation" because of poor caucus participation in the past and for sharing information about other voters. "This was simply a politically motivated attempt to shame certain people into caucusing by assigning them 'grades' and 'scores' that had absolutely no legitimacy," the paper wrote.
"In essence, the mailer was a complete lie, from start to finish."
Cruz won the Monday caucuses by a margin of 3 percent, ahead of Donald Trump and Marco Rubio.

Now, back to the point. About those mailers......
The Des Moines Register is on to Cruzzzz. They are taking it one shenanigan at a time.
This is only the first one.
I am not saying that I agree with the flyers- Which I don’t. But maybe Cruz should have used an old media trick. That is to write at the bottom in very small print the words “stock photo”.
If only the Des Moines Register has checked with the Cruz supporters here, all their misgivings would have been cleared away.
1. It really did not happen.
2. Everybody does it.
3. It is nothing.
4. It’s a “Canadian thing”.
Even lefty media can detect push polls, push mailers, push misinformation. Cruz embraces most all of it, but got caught.
He failed to budget for shooting himself in the foot, x2.
That is in only one state! The smartest guy in the room battles back from his own crap. That is expensive.

Interesting that Trump is accused of having a foul mouth. Thinking back, I’ve never heard him take the Lord’s name in vain, which would be a sin. All the other things are just words and not sins.
Here in the Upstate of SC, I’ve heard no commercials for Carson on radio nor seen on t.v. Nothing in the mail. No campaigning at all. Agree that there appears to be no serious push for the nomination. So the getting all fired up over what happened in Iowa does seem overblown.
Bret Baier and Brit Hume both said that when they saw the press release they thought the Carson campaign was being suspended as well. “ >>>

Brit knows that the ending of a campaign begins not with a CNN announcement based entirely on a damn tweet, but with the words of the candidate directly, saying “I am suspending my campaign”.
Brit and Brett are playing you. They are giving an assist to Rubio and you fell for it.
He has already cost one young man his life with his sham campaign. That 25 year old young man died on an icy road in Iowa. Of course, Carson was nowhere near Iowa at the time.

Me too - getting them for years. Apparently they’ve heard the right called the stupid party so much that they are counting on it.
I remember a mailing from a cycle or two ago that IIRC came from the RNC itself and asked how can you look yourself in the mirror? Well this cycle that type of mailing was portrayed by the GOPe as the most outrageous thing to ever be sent though the US mail. All I know is I certainly wasn’t getting any mailings from the left so it definitely came from the right and it wasn’t from an individual candidate.
Look myself in the mirror? No problem. Especially since I had been complaining to their callers for the previous two cycles at least and telling them my donations were now going straight to the candidates I favored - didn’t need a middle man especially one from the uniparty. Guess the callers didn’t pass on the feedback they were getting - more likely the feedback was ignored.
There is no doubt that the Carson campaign was deeply wounded, but having said that... it actually makes Cruz look worse.
Cruz looked like a vulture, picking the bones of a carcass.
Your problem is that Carson was likable and warmly regarded, and no one wanted him messed with.
Carson owns the sympathy and Cruz is about to own the wrath.
Take out the vowels in his first name.
I think it is despicable that Carson and Armstrong Williams have bilked people out of millions of dollars without running anything but a sham campaign. I think it is despicable that Carson leased a campaign bus to drive around empty through the primary states so he could make voter’s think he was campaigning.
He hasn’t held a single campaign event since he left Iowa. Gee, I wonder where people got the impression he was suspending his campaign?
I hope the family of that young man doesn’t find out what a fraud their son gave his life for.
At some point, between that and the empty campaign bus he leases to drive through the states, people have to start asking how much of a fraud is Ben Carson, really? He might need to go back to selling vitamins for the company that is still paying out millions for fraud. It seems to suit him.
