If NFL games are to compete for eyeballs then the games have to be competitive, i.e. rich teams can't be allowed to buy the best players and become even richer and better.
Even after all of the attempts made by the NFL to keep the teams about even, there are still teams able to create dynasties such as the New England Patriots.
If the NFL is socialist then so is Major League Baseball, the NBA, the NHL, etc.
On stilts. The NFL exists to make a profit for its members. Which in fact it does make by the many millions or billions.
The fact that the league has things like rewarding poor teams with high draft choices is done solely for the purposes of trying to avoid dominance by a few teams. Because teams that dominate might hurt competition, might hurt attendance and tv viewer nos. MIGHT HURT THE BOTTOM LINE!!!
There is no intent for socialism which is a ridiculous notion for a league that is the epitome of a successful private enterprise.
“This guy is an idiot. The NFL is one content provider competing with an ever-widening choice of other content providers such as other sports leagues, movie theaters, theme parks, TV programs, Netflix, YouTube, porn, etc.”
Ah, you forgot the WWE! ;-)
