The (new) Donald — Trumpelstiltskin
http://atimes.com/2016/02/trumpelstiltskin/ ^ | February 4, 2016 | Spengler

No-one doubts that Cruz, a former national college debating champion, is exceptionally bright. Most exceptionally bright people cannot resist the temptation to wing it, simply because they can. Not so Cruz. He combines high intelligence with enormous discipline and capacity for work. Betsy McCaughey, a former Republican Lieutenant-Governor of New York, observes that self-discipline of this kind bespeaks humility: he is smart enough to know that even smart people can make big mistakes, and that hard work is the best insurance against missteps. Humility is not a personality trait one immediately associates with a politician who has opposed virtually all his colleagues in the Senate, but it is required to solicit and obtain the support of grassroots leaders, as Cruz did.

(snip)

Trumpelstiltskin, meanwhile, has revealed a side of his character that voters hitherto have ignored, or even admired in a perverse way. He inherited wealth and ran a private company the way he wanted to, saying what he wanted and hiring and firing whom he pleased, without answering to partners, shareholders or the general public.

He is not a particularly good businessman; had he invested his inheritance in a stock-market index fund, his net worth would be double what it is today. But the psychic rewards of unrestricted narcissism more than compensated for the unperformance of his portfolio. He has had the opportunity to retain the infantile instincts of a child of wealth into his dotage. He cannot bear to lose; he cannot even bear to accept part of the responsibility for a loss.

Who are you, Elijah Muhammad? Calling people white devils?

And your earlier post was quite vulgar and profane.

If you had made it in English it would be deleted and you perhaps would even be banned or suspended for such vulgarity.

Oh my gosh!

At ONE rally?

Where was this and when?

I was out of the loop for a while.

“The (new) Donald”
What’s up with Trump’s potty mouth? He has said the “F-Bomb” and S$$t at his NH rally’s. Not a good thing to hear from someone running for President. (IMHO)

Seems like our guys always come with downside.

I doubt he’ll be worse than any of the rest of them, and we’ll get some good things addressed.

With Cruise there would be problems too. He’s not all that “with it” IMO.

Trump’s investment performance indicate he has a personality problem which is why he’s been on tv forever and out all the candidates people are least sick of seeing his face on tv.

You may not recognize it any more after the Left's attack on manhood - he has the personality of an Alpha Male.

Believe it or not, there was a time when men and women alike considered that to be an asset instead of a liability......

There is NOTHING more conservative than stopping a permanent democrat/marxist voting majority and doing whats best for the people and the country. By virtue of Mr. Trumps position on illegal immigration he Trumps all others conservatism.

Who can doubt it?

There are plenty of factual reasons to disagree with Trump on, relying on known falsehoods and innuendo reflects poorly on the author and publisher, not Trump.

Trump is now adding about 1 million subscribers to his social media account per month. Twitter alone is 15,000 subscribers per day.

The difference between Cruz and Rubio and Trump is that Cruz/Rubio gets paid whether they succeed or fail. Trump gets paid when he succeeds.

Trump knows the pressures of meeting a payroll. Cruz/Rubio have no idea how hard this is to do. Trump has to be firmly anchored in reality to succeed. Cruz/Rubio are lost in fantasy because what they do does not matter. They get paid anyway and collect all their benefits.

Most people just call us thinking conservatives.

Which Trump position on illegal immigration do you refer?

I love fiction but fantasy land not so much. LOL!

Many character traits can be attributed to Ted Cruz but humility is not one of them.

If Trump had invested all his money in the stock market he would still be trying to get back to even from 2008.

Interesting point, and I agree with it.

Trump is the only one who has had to watch the bottom line.
