Supporters of Oregon occupier honor LaVoy Finicum at funeral

Excerpted KANAB — Most of the people who came to the funeral of LaVoy Finicum didn't know the Arizona rancher personally.

They came anyway, in trucks and campers and caravans, drawn either by kinship with the Finicum family or by sympathy for the cause that took him to rural Oregon.

The Arizona rancher was one of the most recognizable faces of the armed standoff in Oregon, where a group of protesters seized the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in early January to protest what they said was federal overreach into Western rangelands.

Finicum was shot dead by police on Jan. 26 in a confrontation that has inflamed the divide between supporters of the standoff and law enforcement officials.

Roughly 1,000 people packed into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building Friday for the funeral service, spilling over into the classrooms and hallways.

Cliven Bundy — a prominent Nevada rancher whose longstanding dispute with the Bureau of Land Management flared up into a standoff in 2014 — joined the Finicum Family.

The article continues, ""We don't want the media's bias," Tenney said at the news conference, flanked by Cliven Bundy and his son Arden. "We don't want the FBI's bias. We want truth."

She also bristled at reports that characterized her father as a militant or extremist.

"Our father … has been called many names by the world," Tenney said, her voice rising in anger. "But I'll tell you what we call him. We call him Daddy."

After the service, six men carried out Finicum's body in a plain pine box and loaded it into a hearse. Dozens of riders on horseback followed."

I don't usually go in for bumper stickers or broadcasting my thoughts and feelings in public but I rather like this brand. (photo 6 in the gallery) I may just have some electrical tape lying around that'd be quick and easy and look good on the rear of my little yellow pick up.

Do you remember Ruby Ridge during the Clinton rule of terror? AnFBI sniper killed a mother in cold blood as she held her baby in her home. The killer was promoted. The people of this country did nothing. As long as the government murders someone else, we are okay with it.

Those in power know this nation of sheep and their cowardly leaders in Congress, in the churches, and in their local communities will close their eyes and try to forget the crimes against humanity they witnessed. But God is keeping an account, and every nation that lives by the sword, dies by the sword. No one is above God’s law.

Ruby Ridge is impossible to forget even though MSM want to ignore it.

Someone the other day said the Sagebrush movement "needs its Samuel Adams." Well it had it's Samuel Adams in LaVoy Finicum. He was the rancher's Andrew Breitbart and he has now been eliminated as a threat.

May LaVoy Finicum RIP.

This man did not need to die. This entire government overreach should not have resulted in anyones death.

I printed it and put it on our windows as we drove 300+ miles to get there. Talk about being branded ;) I also put RIP LaVoy Finicum in the window.

We need more brave souls willing to stand up.

” That’s all he is. An alien bigot, bent on vengeance against Whitey. Like his Mau-Mau Daddy.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAZ8yOFFbAc

Mommy and Daddy did a good job with baby Hussein:

“You’ve got to be taught
To hate and fear,
You’ve got to be taught
From year to year,
It’s got to be drummed
In your dear little ear
You’ve got to be carefully taught.”

“You’ve got to be taught to be afraid
Of people whose eyes are oddly made,
And people whose skin is a diff’rent shade,
You’ve got to be carefully taught.”

“You’ve got to be taught before it’s too late,
Before you are six or seven or eight,
To hate all the people your relatives hate,
You’ve got to be carefully taught!”

Barack has a visceral hatred for everyone his parents and mentors wanted him to hate. It’s almost like malice bubbles over naturally in him.

I also got to meet Victoria Sharp. What an amazing courageous young lady. I hugged her and told her we are all proud of her and that she is a TRUE PATRIOT. Her family sang at the benefit concert and it was beautiful.

Thank you, Kathy, for attending and giving account to those of us with interest in the goings on. Even though I was prevented from attending any occasion other than a close family relative due to being w/i the first 90 days of employment at my new job, my heart was there.

One thing I wonder about the ambush, and perhaps you had a chance to speak with the family of singers while in Kanab or have some other way of knowing, is in regards to the Sheriff of Clark Co. Was he in on the set-up or did he genuinely want a meeting with the group? I think if the rest of the Sharp family who went earlier got there, what was waiting for them? A group of citizens and officials wanting a meeting who were as shocked and surprised at the news of the day or OSB & FBI taking names, ID’s, and statements?

Who are you? The thread monitor?

No one forced you to read anything. If you have control issues, feel like you have to police people’s thoughts, head over to Daily Beast or Huffington Post, even DU if they’re still going.

Don’t tut tut like another Rat party PC speech judge. That’s precisely what this site isn’t about.

I heard one unconfirmed report that another vehicle traveling to the meeting went through just before they set up the road block. Apparently there was no cell service in that area. They tried to call but continued on to the meeting. The report also said the man learned of the shooting via police scanners. I am not sure what happened at the location of the scheduled meeting but you bring up a good question.

It’s called ‘hi-jacking a thread’ - something FR has long been against....

Also, most Freepe4rs can voice their opinion with resorting to insults.

Insults are the DU type tactics when on thin grounds

rant on

By the way, Easterner, ever been to Kanab, or Hildale, or Burns, or John Day, or Sandpoint, or Challis, or really anywhere out here?

Have any clue why these people think like they do, what their history is?

Ever driven 89 all the way from the Mexican border to the Canadian border? 89A Up through Sedona and Oak Creek, Page and Kanab, through Salt Lake to the Star Valley and up through Hoback Junction and Jackson to the Park? Then up through Gardiner and the rest of Montana to Canada?

I have as far North as Livingston. Went to Canada over in Idaho up past the lake (you look it up).

Grew up on the southern end and my father was from the northern end, a cowboy turned attorney. The West is what our family settled. In the 19th century, you didn’t call the Federal Government for anything: you were on your own, the Cavalry was days away. At least back then they were mostly on the side of the Americans...except in the case of the Mormons, who were definitely out there on their own. The government was always there to push them. Believe me, they remember. I am not one though distant relatives went with Young on the Emigration and I’m related to much of the people of Northern Utah because of that.

Look at their names: Anglo-Saxon names. Their ancestors WERE the Americans. Because of their isolation, they are still a remnant population of the original settlers: not just of the West, but America.

And who might the men of the government in DC be? People whose ancestors came what, 1 generation ago? Maybe 2?

And with them they bring the disease of Statism because they never knew the hardship of self reliance and self government. Like Russian serfs, they know only to obey, and expect to be fed for it.

They are not The Americans. The people they pursue are. Those people remember from their family histories, from their own experience, from the solace of living in the open West, what it means to be free on the land.

What legitimacy does such a government have?
