“We want immigration reform to pass, “

Unless you conflate immigration reform with amnesty (they can be very different concepts), why would there be any problem with immigration reform passing? It all depends upon what is included in the reform, doesn’t it.

“Conservatives” that have a knee jerk reaction to the word reform just confirm the stereotype. We do need to fix a lot in our immigration system - biometric entry-exit tracking, improving visa tracking, etc. Any change you can make to improve the system is also considered “reform” . Even Jeff Sessions wanted to improve and modify how we handle legal immigration. Since Sessions was working on this with Cruz, does that mean he wanted amnesty?

Whatever. I read enough of your post to know it had nothing to do with my and the other posters exchange.

He said Cruz did not want the bill to pass,
Cruz attached his name to a letter which states he did.

That’s it.

I’ll admit the word comprehensive also makes me kind of queasy.

And bipartisan.
