Yeah, they have a word for that: Campaigning. It’s what the Cruz team did in Iowa. That’s why they won.

The Cruz team is now sending out letters with "CHECK ENCLOSED" on the envelope. Open the envelope and the check is made out to TED CRUZ, in the amount of $45 and your name at the bottom...also enclosed is a stupid begging letter for supporter.

This is a waste of money, STUPID, and OFFENSIVE!

Yes, I got one yesterday and I haven't EVER donated to Cruz nor done ANYTHING, ever, to show support for his run for president.

This is baffling. Cruz going after Trump's voters with dirty campaign tricks, financed by deep-pocket donors? Geesh, at this rate, Cruz won't even be invited to the Inaugural Ball.

Ted and Heidi and their "me first, anything to win" antics are reminding me of Bill and hillary when they started out. I don't think I'll be able to stop comparing the two couples in the future. yuck

Cruz has hired the best and most devious experts in manipulating social media and squeezing every last vote out of the electorate. They know exactly how far they have been able to push things in the past and still get away with it. I am not sure whether these tactics are a good long term strategy for Cruz who started with a somewhat shaky image to begin with and is now finding himself under extreme scrutiny; however it worked in Iowa and it has worked for numerous politicians in many previous contests. Only one thing is for sure... it will be an interesting primary season.

Oh my, how could I possibly support someone who calls people that don't already support him, to get their support? That's just.....wow. I'm so disappointed.

A political campaign is an organized effort which seeks to influence the decision making process within a specific group. Traditional ground campaigning and voter contacts remain the most effective strategies. Some research suggests that knocking on doors can increase turnout by as much as 10% and phone calls by as much as 4%. A review of more than 200 get-out-the-vote experiments finds that door-to-door canvassing increases turnout by 1.0% point, direct mail by 0.7% points, and phone calls by 0.4% points.

Campaigns often dispatch volunteers into local communities to meet with voters and persuade people to support the candidate. The volunteers are also responsible for identifying supporters, recruiting them as volunteers or registering them to vote if they are not already registered. The identification of supporters will be useful later as campaigns remind voters to cast their votes.

Late in the campaign, campaigns will launch expensive television, radio, and direct mail campaigns aimed at persuading voters to support the candidate. Campaigns will also intensify their grassroots campaigns, coordinating their volunteers in a full court effort to win votes.

Techniques and traditions

How can we be sure that wasn’t just a ruse staged by the People’s Front For The Liberation Of Old Hampshire?
