Especially when the prospective SC justice that Cruz lobbied for wasn’t John Roberts at all. Cruz lobbied for J. Michael Luttig. But, guess what, it’s the President that nominates people to the Supreme Court, and Ted Cruz has never been President.
Once Bush decided on John Roberts, Ted Cruz did as his boss asked and lobbied for Roberts, as did many others.
What would Trump have had him do? Tell the President to get stuffed? Quit? What?
