Looked up some numbers. As of September, 2015, 187 Charter schools closed in Texas. Although, to be fair, many of those only closed due to mere incompetence; it would be unfair to assert fraud in all of the cases. Seems a bit of a stretch to call them a successful alternative to urban schools which were destroyed by the federal courts.
