What Rubio said was spot on, it needs to be said.
He could have handled it better, IMO.
He came across as flustered by Christie.
His robotic repetition of a talking point was alarming for such a normally smooth debater.
The Whale That Destroyed New Jersey can be rather intimidating when he attacks.
He absolutely could have handled it better. But what I think happened was that Rubio was prepared for an attack from Trump and shocked when Christie opened up on him. Frankly, I think it was a setup between Trump and Christie. Trump has always referred to Obama as “incompetent” and Rubio was ready for him but when he realized there had been a switch and bait he didn’t know what else to do but use the line he was prepared to use on Trump. Nice to know that New York and New Jersey still work together against conservatism.
