He can’t without trapping himself.
It takes time to get back to your big donors and ask them how you should think.
Because he already voted on many of those items his record speaks for itself he voted for the very things that are antithetical to everything Donald Trump proposed in his answers
Because Cruz blares to the world his Christian faith, every chance he gets. So, he has three choices.
Not answer and avoid all questions regarding Sessions.
Lie thru his teeth, thus committing a sin. And since he’s such a Christian he can’t show the evangelicals that side even though it’s on full display.
Tell the truth and let the world know he’s nothing more than an Establishment hack like the others.
