H-1B is a program to make all indigenous STEM workers unemployed by importing foreigners as indentured servants to do their job at 60% of the prevailing wage. Once these foreigners get their green card and some do become US citizens then they vote Democrat.

Yep, H1-B visas have driven wages down in the relevant categories. I’m not a fan, to put it mildly.

That said, Cruz’ current proposal is a minimum $110,000 wage for H1-B visa workers. That would be fine with me, and by the way would greatly reduce the program by ensuring Americans get first shot at most jobs.

The foreign-born engineers that I work with hate the Democrats. Most are working towards H-1 status, which for them takes years. Until they get H-1, their spouses are not allowed to work here.

Once they get H-1, they apply for citizenship. I am privileged to work alongside these people. They are a pleasant reminder that there are people in this world who still believe in the American Dream. And it benefits this country when we get the very best that the world has to offer working here.

Of course none of this has anything to do with Cruz's opposition to the comprehensive immigration bill.
