They both want BORDER SECURITY, albeit for somewhat different reasons.

Yeah, but remember - part of what makes the kook element think Trump is a "socialist" is the fact that he wants border security. To these folks, if you're not some open-borders fanatic who truly believes in all that "free people can cross borders freely" and "we should have unfettered free movement of labour" nonsense, then you're a big-gummit lovin' socialist.

I think that most anti-Trump people reflexively oppose him because his some of his supporters do not have a grasp of logic.

That’s a good point. Libertarian types (in addition to establishment types) always had HUGE ISSUES with protecting our borders...and that clearly is the problem with a good number of people here.

I also think there are a number of campaign workers for non-Trump candidates using forums like these to try to stop Trump. I can’t say I blame them, but I’ll also say they’re not likely to have great results.

Nonsense it is his calls for the government to provide healthcare for all, expanding drug benefits. He is a crony capitalist who believes in government seizing property to benefit the rich.

His belief in central planning for ‘solutions’ to problems, it is in every speech, he is going to get the ‘smartest’ people in to solve problems. He thinks that the people in charge are failing because they are “dumb”. He misses the point the problem is faith in central planning and a top down approach to problem rather than looking to individual freedom and ‘solutions’ that derive from the marketplace of ideas.

Trump believes that only the ‘smart guys’ like him and his buddies can provide the ideas to solve problems. This is an approach used by socialist.

His flip flops and numerous liberal positions over the years makes me think his populism is a matter of convenience.

Oh, sure, it’s that he wants “border security”. It has nothing to do with his record of support for SOCIALIZED MEDICINE, or NATIONALIZING INDUSTRIES. Sure.

Since 99%, or more, of socialists want wide open borders, your claim makes no sense.
