Being liked and respected and leadership ability has everything to do with getting good deals done for the good of the country.

Read his book, the America we deserve.

Shocker he “changed” his mind after deciding to run for president.

Don’t worry, he will change back after he has nomination.

No surprise the cult doesn’t even know what the cult leader really believes when he is not pretending to be Republican for the nomination.

But don’t worry, when outlaws those weapons it will be part of a great deal with Pelosi. He only does great deals.

Understand context; “the lower 25 percent that can’t afford private” are the ones he says we will take care of. If you think about it the rest of use are paying for them right now anyway.

Are we not trying to FIGHT this nonsense right now? Is that not the point of fighting Obamacare? So we can get away from such insanity? Socialism is socialism. Period.

Yes. Yes I do have the gall to tell you to open your eyes.. They are closed and you've shoved your head into the ground so deep you cannot even tell when you are proposing/defending socialism.

That is NOT the liberty we enjoy in this great country. I should not be forced to pay a single thing for anyone, anywhere.

Trump wants is quite literally proposing socialistic universal healthcare, and you're too busy defending the Marxist in hiding you cannot even see what it is he is proposing.

How do you propose to force the 25% not paying to for HC pay for it?

How will they pay for it?

Do you have a workable solution?

As a life-long so-called “principled” conservative, who gets accused of preaching to the choir, quoting the founding documents, talking about unalienable rights, enumerated powers, checks and balances, etc. I’m a little shocked to hear myself saying this, but - I don’t think we need a Reaganesque principled conservative POTUS right now.

Maybe if we were confused about what direction to go, and on the verge of going down the wrong path, maybe then we’d need a conservative scholar to sort it out and articulate it to the befuddled masses. But the nation has gone so far left I don’t think anyone is befuddled at all, the vast majority knows exactly what we need to do - throw the rascals out, cut the government way back, replace political correctness with common sense and build up the defense. We don’t need someone smart enough to explain the conservative principles - most of the people’s eyes would glaze over - we need someone with balls and common sense to say “you’re fired!!” I can’t wait.

A good post and I mostly agreed with you up until the last line:

“Either way, we win, they lose..”

The problem is, it isn’t going to be “either way we win.”

What a lot of folks on the right wing in general and FR in particular are ignoring or missing is the terrible results for us on the ‘rat side of the fence in NH. It’s obvious that piaps will not be the rat nominee, and as such our side isn’t going to have an easy candidate to defeat. If piaps were to be the ‘rat nominee, I believe that Donald Trump would easily win, and Ted Cruz could probably win. With Bernie or another substitute “populist”like fauxahontas, Trump will have a challenge and Cruz would almost certainly lose the general.

What FReepers tend to forget is that our forum here is in no way reflective of the views of the country as a whole. If it were, we wouldn’t be discussing Trump versus Cruz, we would be discussing Vice President Palin’s campaign for President. Bernie is no joke. He is very popular amongst the 47% of the population that willard infamously identified, and his supporters will give it their all to get him elected. Any rat candidate starts with a fairly large electoral vote advantage, and Bernie will have a much easier time of unifying the left than either Cruz or Trump will on the right.

So given that this is going to be a tough slog, who do you pick? The candidate with imagination and the ability to appeal to voters outside the traditional right wing circles, or do you pick the one that is most consistently appealing to that small portion of the populace who are full bore conservative?

The choice is easy. Unless you want to feel the bern, you pick the candidate who might not meet the rigid standards of the People’s Temple of Conservative Purity, but who has a fair chance of delivering something that looks like conservatism.

And your response to this latest Trump tweet?

Remember, it was the Republican Party, with the help of Conservatives, that made so many promises to their base, BUT DIDN'T KEEP THEM!

Sorry, but with comments like this latest one, I just can't trust Trump. He betrays conservatives with his words now. What's to stop him from betraying us with his deeds, should he win the nomination?

We can be really angry with him and talk tough about replacing him with a real conservative in the next election. LOL

This may well be our last chance to save the nation from the insidious leftist takeover and “transformation”. With Cruz in the WH, we could still have Trump build that wall. We just wouldn’t have to worry about any betrayal from another RINO CIC. Just sayin....

Vote Cruz. It’s really the only sane and sensible, sure thing choice that we have.

The thing about the wall is that it already exists in the form of passed legislation that is just waiting for a president to sign it. There’s no doubt that Cruz will sign it and get it done since he’s been pushing for it since Trump was paying the gang of 8

#1) No one takes a “movie” from Funny or Die seriously.

We have an entire generation that looks to Steven Colbert to give them their daily news ("The Daily Show") and now on Late Night pretending to be a serious news-like personality.

Trust me on this: There's a whole generation of stupid voters out there that views this kinda stuff, takes it seriously, and votes based on it.

True. Plus, Cruz will see to it that our immigration laws already on the books are enforced in the meantime. That means no more Obama administration threats to those who actually enforce the border control laws. How refreshing that would be.

Ironically, Colbert is an even bigger @ss/joke than Stewart was. And yes, our dumbed down masses actually took The Daily Show as their preferred gospel-like news source. We have already reached Idiocracy critical mass, IOW.
