I’m all for debate on the merits, as well as making “realpolitik” observations and predictions, such as SCOTUS will continue to evade certain issues, and stick its beak in where it has no power but has an itch. My remark was on the fact that the labels “conservative” and “liberal” generate more heat than light.

I do not disagree. What I am seeing/reading this election cycle has little truth in advertising... It like this nation is plagued with vertigo because everything sits on shifting sand.

Yep. I think that's always been the case though. Every time there is a hot issue, one side or both comes up with labels that tend to point away from objectively analyzing the issue(s).
