A federal government contractor is issuing smartphones to immigrant families released from two massive Texas detention centers as a way to ensure that they are able to contact case managers and reach their U.S. destinations.
Officials described the phones as part of a less-restrictive alternative to detention programs designed to make sure that low-risk immigrant families with pending cases show up for court. The phones, they said, are not used to track or monitor immigrants but rather as a safety net.
Yaneth Guevara Leyva, who has a pending asylum case, said she received a Galaxy 4 smartphone complete with voice and Internet service after she was released from one of the Texas detention centers two weeks ago. She said she was told that she was being placed in a family case management program along with her children, ages 7 and 2.
"They told me I was selected because I have small children and for my case, because I was a victim of domestic violence," Guevara said. "I was surprised because I thought I would get ankle monitors."

Anyway, if I have to choose between polite and ineffective on the one hand (which we’ve been dealing with from the RINOs for the last 50 years, to our everlasting regret and the joy of the Dems), and a bit crude, but effective in advancing this country’s interests on the other, then I’m choosing Door #2. It is well past time to stop worrying about hurting the feelings of people with eggshell-thin personalities, and to start actually doing something about the harmful policies that have been dragging this country down since at least the time of Lyndon Johnson. This is a WAR for our culture and our nation, and in a war people get hurt and things get broke - which is regrettable, but nonetheless far better than just giving up and losing.
You cannot seriously be making your choice for President based on rudeness or lack thereof, can you? You would let this country remain in the hands of either the Communist-leaning Dems, or those of the GOP establishment that only cares about itself and lies to us as a matter of purposeful policy, all because of a few (supposedly) baaaaad words? Puhleeze, get real!
The migrant women have been coached to say this by the open-border advocates. Gets them a U-1 visa (kids get U-3s) which is a "non-immigrant" visa for "victims of crime". It was supposed to be a rarely used visa category, but the Obama regime has found it to be an easy amnesty tool and has gone crazy issuing this visa type.

Of course I’m not making my choice based on rudeness or profanity But not having the self control to avoid profanity in highly inappropriate places does speak to character I have fired people for dropping the F bomb in the workplace in public and inappropriate displays And it bothers me to lower the level of discourse here and in overall there are plenty of ways to make a point, often more effectively without resorting to profanity and crudity And don’t be disingenuous everyone knows quite well the origin of the referenced insult It is crude and that’s why so many delight on using it
I made my choice in the primaries based on positions long before some of the candidates crawled in the verbal sewer I don’t want to join them there

And a side note -in these times, when delusional islamic muslims will be arriving to murder our citizens, cut off our heads and rape our wives and daughters -we need to think of some fast way- to Stop Obama from bringing in tens of thousands of rapefugees during the rest of this year! This is imperative.
I tend to agree with you. I like comedians who, for example, can make you laugh without resorting to profanity - it shows greater knowledge of, and skill with, the language, plus has the benefit of not bringing the level of our civilization down yet another notch.
What I don’t understand is making such a big deal over it right now, in the middle of what I believe to be the most important election since 1860. The simple fact is that ours is already a seriously degraded culture. You, I and everyone on FR working diligently together from now until election day won’t change that, no matter how much we’d like to do so. What we can do during that time period, however, is to have something of an impact on the results of that election - and that, IMHO, is of FAR, FAR greater importance to this country. Speaking to and dealing with each other like perfect little Victorians while our country folds up like a cheap umbrella in a hurricane under ANY Dem is simply NOT an option for me. Let’s please concentrate on the most important task that we have before us: defeating the Left. If we don’t succeed, nothing else really matters; if we do succeed, then we’ll have the luxury of being able to attend to a wide variety of cultural issues, including simple human relations and manners.
Here’s a question for you: if your preferred candidate loses in the primaries, will you vote for the Republican nominee, no matter who that may be?
The only way to have done that is to have cut off the funding. Right now, the feds pay “charities” like Catholic Charities thousands per refugee that they settle. But Paul Ryan and the RINOs (sounds like a musical group - if only they were one) gave the Traitor-in-Chief everything that he wanted. Now we can only stop this via the courts...and I’m not holding my breath on that one.
It is going to require a President Trump or a President Cruz to order the tracking down of those people, and the tossing out of them - Rubio and Bush won’t do it. If it isn’t done, we’ll be only a few steps behind Europe. This election is our LAST chance to preserve our civilization, to ensure that we pass to our children what our parents passed to us.
It depends I don’t think I could vote for bush or Rubio but when push comes to shove I might hold my nose and do it
I totally agree with you, but keep in mind there are plenty of people on your side of the Trump/Cruz divide who just as guilty of what you objected to.

We all know that Texas and many other states already tried a few months ago to stop this influx of Muslim 'immigrants' but some ruling has prevented fruitation of those efforts. It is absolutely imperative now for our Senators and Congress to quickly find a way to stop All of these 170,000 murdering, rapist Muslim rapefugees from getting here. ( I know that on Dec 16, approx. ninety (90) Muslim 'immigrants' arrived at DFW and so far, not one inkling from Obama where this large group was taken and dropped off)

The line for free phones for citizens can be found in any inner city are of the country. The “obamaphone” program for the poor has been going on for several years. If you are eligible for snap, wic, tanf or any of the other alphabet giveaways you qualify for a free phone with so many free minutes per month and internet access.
