You ignored this part of my reply, it’s the context the “government will pay” part;

“And he wants the 25% the rest of us are paying for now to still be covered even if the government pays for it. The government (the rest of us) pays for most of them now through welfare.

Now do you advocate that 25% pay for their own HC? If yes, how do you propose to make them pay for it?? Do you have any workable solutions??”

I purposely ignored your follow up question below out of charity to be frank. Why? How can I rationalize my initial refusal to answer your question with “charity”? Simple. Because a “conservative” (at least one should be a conservative on FR) shouldn’t even ASK such a question!!! Your question:

“Now do you advocate that 25% pay for their own HC? If yes, how do you propose to make them pay for it?? Do you have any workable solutions??”

I most emphatically and resoundingly answer: YES I most certainly DO “advocate” that 25% (really everyone) “pay for their own HC”!!! What an offensive thing for one (alleged) conservative to ask another!!! Don’t fall into the phony emotionalism that (apparently) Trump is selling which is that since 25% of the population NOW can’t (or won’t) pay for their own HC costs that means somehow we must continue to pay for them, as if 25% of the population is UNable to support themselves (physically).

I realize they are on welfare of some sort but does that somehow justify CONTINUING to pay for them, for ETERNITY??

Here’s the solution and it’s one that Ted Cruz has ALWAYS said (and one Trump has recently espoused, that is probably after some internal poll told him the “government will pay”’line polled really badly along conservatives.):

Give people HSAs
Give them the ability to shop across state lines (for health insurance)
Give them the ability to take their insurance with them after they leave a job (portability).
Tort reform.

Those things, when implemented, will dramatically reduce insurance costs if not the direct cost of health care for EVERYONE. Not just this poor, incapable “25%” you and Trump keep harping about but everyone.

This is the Ted Cruz plan. And he has NEVER said “the government will pay”.
