This move was done two hours before Governor John Bel Edwards (D) is scheduled to address the state on the budget deficit and launch his efforts to raise taxes in an upcoming special session to plug the $800 million deficit this fiscal year.

This is how the governor will try to get the people of Louisiana and Legislature to go along with the plans to raise taxes...by instituting the harshest means to cut the budget possible. Suspending current state scholarship money to students in school right now is one of the harshest ways to cut the budget.

For Edwards and his supporters, it’s either raise taxes or end student aid and slash higher education to the point where universities close.

Yep, scare tactics. He is also threatening to close the LSU nursing and dental schools and cut back on the medical school unless taxes are raised. Basically the MSM are playing along and telling people they will lose access to healthcare unless taxes go up.

They always have to threaten students, cut police & fire, and other means of scaring the sheep.

It's never cutting pay, laying off worthless employees and cutting benefits.
