It’s like when headlines for articles do not line up with the article. The headline gets reacted to and not the actual article, which most of the time is contradictory!

Yup.

It’s explained right in the article.

But the Cruz people just need something to chuck out quickly after that SC poll took the wind out of them.

I didn't see the interview but my take is that when someone says "'I'm Capable of Changing To Anything I Want to Change To'. is that he is stating he is his own man and not beholden to someone else. That he controls his own destiny. It's a philosophy of a winning attitude.
