Even I don’t believe he is working for the Dems. IMO Carter had it right - Trump is malleable on the issues. Right now being tough-ish on immigration and against gun restrictions plays well. In the past it didn’t, so he wasn’t for those and other conservative issues. In the future, who knows? IF there’s enough national outcry after a mass shooting, maybe he’ll push for gun laws. If the Dems take both sides of Congress, maybe he’ll start supporting their goals again. He’s flexible like that and can change into whatever best benefits him.
