“Ok Donald, you keep bringing up this birther issue for me just like you hounded President Obama for years, unsuccessfully. In my own legal opinion, and I’ve studied this issue thoroughly before deciding to run, even though I was born in Canada, having been born to a US citizen qualifies me to run for POTUS as a NBC.
However, you keep bringing this up and threatening a lawsuit. Tonight, I challenge you to go through with this threat, to bring a federal suit against myself and also Marco Rubio, whose parents were not US citizens. Then we’ll be able to get this matter resolved once and for all.
I have to say that your bluster over the past months has been a distraction to our campaign. Now, if you truly have the spirit of your convictions to become POTUS, then I expect you to file suit. If not, then I guess everyone will realize that your mudslinging on the birther issue is nothing more than a cheap political ploy designed to distract from the real and important issues of the campaign.
