If you’re talking about British Common Law, it doesn’t clear anything up. Vattel’s Law of Nations was the origin of the term “Natural born citizen.”

Blackstone’s Commentaries are directly relevant, considering it was foundation of colonial law. Either way, what Trumpists are pawning is the idea that Natural Born is Local Born. The two are distinct. And by Trump’s interpretation (for the moment) Local Born=Natural Born, so the son of a US Citizen would be ineligible, but the child of a Chicom born here under birth tourism would be eligible. That is nonsense, and a clear violation of the intent of both English Common Law and post US constitution statutory law.

See 8 USC 1401 (g). Trump makes a lot of accusations that are halftruth’s at best.
