Plus, in case you guys haven’t noticed, it’s not 2001 anymore. A whole generation of voters now believe the whole Iraq thing was a big mistake. If ANYONE thinks the GOPe is benefitting from defending that, wow. Those days are long gone and Trump knows it.

Thank you! W left office with the economy in shambles and historic low approval. This isn’t time for nostalgia.

You could be right. American people are much different than voters on this site. Blaming W for WTC was really bad though ...

Criticizing the decision to invade Iraq and conduct a "hearts and minds" war is one thing, and is quite justified, imo.

Blaming Dubya for 9/11 is quite another.

Two different issues.

Great point. A lot of people are scratching their heads and wondering why there are people defending the Iraq war. They don't care or don't know about what happened before or after and a debate isn't the place to educate them. Trump is tapping into the here and now and not stuck defending party policy and party decisions. He'll piss off some Republicans but he'll gain more supporters then he'll lose.

Bush I gave us Clinton
Bush II gave us Obama
I’m as huge on America as anyone, but at some point there has to be a cost-benefit evaluation. We are just told to suck it up on the costs of nation building in these third world crap holes, largely acting as security guards for the house of saud.
