That was then, this is now. We mobilized over 14 MILLION men during WW2, now we can barely muster 1 million. A good portion of that 1 million are women, and many of the men are raised on “time out” with their stress cards, etc. We’ve grown a lot softer since the WW2 era. During WW 2 we were the arsenal of democracy, now we are a nation of burger flippers, shopping mall clerks, and people with Women’s Study, and African-American Studies degrees.
