It’s simple. He could tell the truth about what he really did write!

He didn't say Presidency, or term. He used the word associated with Monarchies. He used the word associated with Dynasties. He used the word associated with Royalty.
I think it was the whole point of the exchange. Does America want another member of the Ruling Class Elites? Funny, I caught the same thing (his use of the word "reign"), but had the exact opposite reaction. I see it not as him associating Bush with dynasties, but as him showing how he views the Presidency. I don't want a President who thinks he will "reign" over the country.
