Death of a Saint
Rapture Ready ^ | 15 Feb 16 | Patrick Wyett

Posted on 02/15/2016 3:55:25 AM PST by SkyPilot

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints" (Psalm 115:16).

The death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia on February 13 hit me much the way Ronald Reagan's death in 2004 did. Both were men of principle, and most importantly, the right principles.

"Devout Christians are destined to be regarded as fools in modern society. We are fools for Christ's sake. We must pray for courage to endure the scorn of the sophisticated world." --Antonin Scalia

As President Reagan had retired and was suffering in his last years with Alzheimer's, perhaps Scalia's death stings a little more as he was still at the forefront of the fight for our country and this nation's soul.

Presidential candidates have been asked if they, as president, would have a litmus test for picking Supreme Court nominees. While several responses have been uttered, here's the correct one, from Judge Scalia himself.

"The constitution is not a living organism. It's a legal document, and it says what it says and doesn't say what it doesn't say." - Antonin Scalia

Liberals/progressives/Marxists proclaim that the Constitution is a living organism. This means in their eyes it's subject to interpretation to mean pretty much anything that a majority says it does. In effect it allows judges to make new law through personal opinion rather based on what law and precedent actually say or don't say.

We saw this in Roe versus Wade and in the homosexual marriage rulings.

This ideology defies law and intent, giving license to twist that which our founders so meticulously and fervently labored to bestow; a Constitutional Republic, into an oligarchy from the bench.

Not surprisingly, the idiotic idea of the Constitution being a living organism is the litmus test of the current administration. Absolute lawlessness under which you have no protected freedoms and no God-given rights. Our Founders went to war over these very same conditions.

Justice Scalia's death provides a two-fold opportunity for those who are destroying the Republic. The obvious route to destruction is to allow Obama to nominate another Marxist to the Supreme Court.

Failing that, he and his allies only need steer a case to the federal court system, say a Second Amendment case, through a court like the 9th District Court of Appeals in San Francisco. Once the court opines against what the Constitution plainly says, even if the Supreme Court would take up the case, the best that could be hoped for is a 4-4 deadlock, thereby allowing the lower court's ruling to stand.

Per our example, no right to keep and bear arms. We the People are in a no-win situation now.

"The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come." (Isaiah 57:1)

The evil to come is hastened by the death of such men as Antonin Scalia. Yet for all his service to this nation, Justice Scalia offers us yet one last opinion, in retrospect, the example of his life.

The lesson to be gleaned, appreciated and lived applies to politicians, men and women of good will and especially to Christians in our personal and public lives.

Stand your ground! No compromise with evil. No "reaching across the aisle to find common ground" with our enemies. They are our enemies!

We don't work with them, we oppose them. We fight them like they fight us. Hear that office-seekers? We don't want you making deals with those who are destroying us. We want them beaten. Consensus with evil is surrender to evil. Nor am I content to maintain the status quo. That's right, I want those freedoms unjustly usurped, taken back.

And if there's stalemate, that's far preferable to wickedness advancing. We retreat no more.

Justice Scalia made no apologies for his positions and he gave no ground. He was bold for what he believed and steadfast in his defense of it.

Either you stand for something or you stand for nothing. For some, such a stand might be an inconvenience for their comfortable life. We've suffered a lot of that thinking not only in recent decades but even back to our beginnings.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!" - Samuel Adams

There was a cost to Antonin Scalia for the things he stood for; the left hated him. Upon his death, the most vile, detestable things were gleefully said and written by those who dwell in darkness. The lost world will certainly give you their scorn.

Remember what Jesus said.

"Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you" (Matthew 5:11-12).

One last thing. We're promised such things as America can be great again. America wasn't made great by politicians, it was made great by the blessings of Almighty God because the people revered and worshipped Him. No politician can restore that.

Only We the People can. Here's how.

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" (2 chronicles 7:14).

That's if we do. If we don't, we as a nation and world continue down the same path we're on. It's a short path now as we draw closer to our final destination. Do you smell the smoke? Can you feel the heat?

Seek the Lord in prayer. Surrender any sin that separates you from Him. Surrender all. Then seek His will with the courage of an Antonin Scalia.

Rest easy, sir. By the grace and power of God, you've earned it.

If Scalia was murdered, God knows.

We don't know, but God does.

In either case, I pray that evil is punished in our nation. It is long past time that the wicked feel that sting of God's wrath and rebuke.

Should we pray for our nation? Absolutely. I do pray.

But I also recognize that nation's can be so far gone that God's judgment has already been rendered and the sentence pronounced upon them.

In the book of Jeremiah, God tells this big hearted man who was known as the "weeping prophet" because of his concern and grief for Israel that the nation had gone too far, and judgment was coming.

Therefore do not pray for this people, nor lift up a cry or prayer for them, nor make intercession to Me; for I will not hear you. Jeremiah 7:16

Therefore thus says the Lord God: "Behold, My anger and My fury will be poured out on this place - on man and on beast, on the trees of the field and on the fruit of the ground. And it will burn and not be quenched." Jeremiah 7:20

Personally, I believe America is now past the point of no return, and judgment is coming upon our nation. We have crossed and now exceeded every abomination that brought judgment to every ancient land in the past. I can turn on the television for 10 minutes, and witness the most selfish, wicked, and godless acts of a godless people.

I pray that God blesses and takes care of His own. Those who are His in Christ. I pray for my family. And I pray for Israel.

I do not either. The way things are today, I always expect the worst, until proven wrong.

Amen.

Everything I’ve ever heard or read about the man demonstrated to me that he was above reproach. A most honorable and faithful being.

RIP good sir and prayers to your family.
