The best spin I can come up with as to why Rush is trying to protect Robocito is that he just wants to have a viable alternative in case Trump and Cruz falter. Sorry for the wishful thinking.

The rigged crowds and their premature exhortations (cheers) for Robocito and Jeb before they actual make a point is the flak that we can expect when we are on target with our anti-establishment votes.

And he should. Cruz is the only conservative in the bunch. Rush has a conservative show.

Looking back on it, remember that Cruz was the original "wacko bird" conservative that the official party was terrified of. I think Jeb was originally supposed to take Cruz down but had to change course when Trump started to roll. Maybe that's some of the reason why Jeb looks stunned, sounds retarded, and spends money like he's on shore leave with little or nothing in return.

I agree that Marco is the anointed one, so the GOPe will have to use more conventional means against Cruz (and they will not use citizenship lest Rubio get bruised as well). In the meantime, just hope that Baby Bush does not give Baby Donnie his rationale for going Ross Perot on us).
The scary thing is that Trump is potentially narcissist enough to think he'll lead a grand coalition of former Dems, Pubs, and Indies to victory over the "stupid politicians" and make America's future "huge" in his image.)

Actually he is disgusting me right now. He claims to not take sides during Pub primaries, and he is doing so obviously. By the way, Rush was a big Bush 43 supporter, so he’s not as Conservative as you may think.

liberal Trump probably will go third party and get Hillary elected as was planned from the start

Not many Freepers believe that any more, so I'm always heartened to see someone clinging to that like grim death.

From what I’ve heard from Rush, he hasn’t “endorsed” anyone but he seems to favor both Trump and Cruz with a lot of his comments.

He came as close to endorsing Cruz today that you can come without actually doing it.

That may have been the GOPe plan, but it certainly was not Trump's plan.

They are not ‘trying to’, they are rigging the debates.

Rush will support the nominee over all dims. That is what he did with 43. The alternative to 43 were pretty slim picking by the time Super Tuesday rolled around. When you only have one candidate that is the most conservative why would you not lean toward him if you are a conservative commentator? I had rather Rush hint early on for Cruz that be in the tank for Jeb, Christie, Rubio, Kasich, or the likes.

Rush is and has been shilling for Cruz; he continues to do so today, and is now saying Trump is not a conservative, in spite of the fact Trump in the main, is. It’s making me sick. Once again, the Conservatives are drawing a circular firing squad and shooting at each other with impunity.

Rush is under the influence of his establishment friends, namely Thomas Sewell, who has just endorsed Cruz out loud, and Mark Levin who has backed Cruz right along, among others. So, if Trump, according to Rush, is no Conservative, then, alternatively, it is okay to call Rush an Establishment Republican, based on his personal friendships and associations. Including having been made an honorary House member by the Pub Party. See how easy it is to claim someone is whatever you want to see them as, or not?

Cruz, for all his painting himself as an outsider, is and has been an insider for years; he once worked in the Bush Administration, for Pete’s sake. He is a member of the lawyer class, and is therefore slick with words (just like Rubio is) and lies glibly. I trust Trump’s inherent honesty (in spite of his being prone to using exaggeration as a term of art) over Cruz’s basic instinct towards lawyerly sleaziness and underhandedness. And Trump is a doer in life; Cruz is all talk, no do.

As President Cruz would do nothing to turn this country around, and would have everyone against him in short order, including the public. Cruz could very well lose in the general elections, as few like him.

Trump will get things done, like build a wall, minimize ISIS, stem the flow of immigrants from the Middle East, gain respect and some fear for our country by foreign entities, both foe and friend, and rebuild our economy. Cruz will accomplish none of this, because of his basic personality and obstructionist nature.

P.S., and this is purely cosmetic, I can’t stand listening to Cruz’ Mickey Mouse voice. It’s like chalk on a blackboard. Although I will say Hillary’s voice is the worst of all throughout eternity.

Well, Rush explained something today: “I am not going to damage anyone who can beat Hillary and the Democrats.” That’s fair, I guess.

Those thoughts are clanging back and forth in my cranium as well.

The talking heads we generally go to for guidance, are singing the GOPe line, anyone but Trump.

Rubio ain’t so bad... (who cares about illegal aliens anyway)

Ted is the only Conservative... (and we all know Conservatives lie constantly)

Anyone but Trump... (who cares about his platform anyway, we can just misrepresent and deny that)

Yada yada yada...

Same song, different verse.

The GOPe can effectively eliminate all potential candidates except Trump and Cruz simply by wavering regarding whether they would consider a SCOTUS nominee or not.

If McConnell doesn’t hold firm in a bold way it will be ammo that the establishment has betrayed conservatives.
