President Obama Explains Why He Must Appoint A New Justice (Or Else) - Live Feed
Zero Hedge ^ | 16 Feb 2016 | Tyler Durden

Posted on 02/16/2016 1:50:26 PM PST by amorphous

Due up at 1635ET, President Obama holds his first post-Scalia press conference. We assume the propaganda du jour will be the imminent need to appoint a new SCOTUS justice... and why anyone who blocks that plan is "peddling fiction." While he is up there, we assume some comments regarding the escalations in Syria will be discussed... and why Russia (and Putin most clearly) are to blame.

The republicans will probably reject the first nomination... then stall a bit.

the will then most likely confirm whatever the 2nd nomination is, citing that they are fearful that hillary or bernie will win, and that this particular candidate is someone they can work with... and is better than either of the dem candidates appointing someone who is whacked out liberal.

at least that’s how I see this play going down.

He is going to nominate Loretta Lynch.

That way they can play the black female victim card and whip up their base. It also provides an excuse for the Hillary Server case to go on-hold.

The Pubbies in the Senate will have a very difficult time explaining why they voted to confirm her as Attorney General but not for SCOTUS.

If even ONE R Senator votes for any pick of obozo, there will be hell to pay!

-—that’s funny right there

all it will take is for those who voted to confirm to tell their rubes (I mean constituents) afterwards that they are good Christians, they are against amnesty, they are anti-abortion, and they want reform... all we be forgiven.

not only that, but then said candidate can fund-raise till the cows come home on the basis of “we need to change the courts!”

you guys never learn do you?

I have him on mute too. I can’t stand his sibilant “s”, and his whining.

Junior Senator from NJ and has just had his book published.

Booker might have other political aspirations, like POTUS.

Marxist is making me gag.

I can see that he wants to invoke blackmail regarding his pending appointments.

He’s really quite amazing ... he’s totally above partisanship!

Unbelievable. He is now turning this press conference into a campaign ad for the Democrat party. Unreal.

I watched 10 seconds, saw that supreme arrogance and disrespect for Mr. Justice Scalia, makes me think this is NOT a natural cause situation...too scripted.

They should non-consent on anyone who is not a jurist in the tradition of Antonin Scalia.

Sure. They have every right to do that. Actually, they took an oath to do that.
They can give or not give their consent for ANY reason they choose. If they want a Scalia, they can wait for a Scalia. If oboma chooses a Scalia, they can bring it up for a vote. Otherwise, they can just wait it out.
Chuck Schumer didn't want Bush to appoint anyone for anything because he only had 18 months left to his presidency. Now, oboma only has 11 months. Why not use the democrats own rules against them? Wouldn't that be the "fair" thing to do?

Lynch or someone like her would be to be his first choice, IMO.

It also provides an excuse for the Hillary Server case to go on-hold.

I'm not sure it's a bad thing -- for us -- if Hillary wins the nomination. Biden, I think, is a more formidable candidate. Because of the mathematics of Democrat superdelegate system, pretty much the only way to get rid of Hillary is an indictment and the clock is running out on that.

As the Republican candidate, Trump would be running as the antiwar candidate against an opponent who voted for the Iraq war and is responsible for multiple messes including the one in Libya.

Think about that for a moment.

What a classless d-bag obama is. Every other past president would opt not to comment on the primaries. obama not only comments, he goes on a condescending, hateful, rant about the republicans.

fck you obama
