I find you rather comical here.

This all transpired while Trump was running around the country. I mentioned this to you and after telling me you were ready to give Trump the benefit of the doubt, you go right back to ignoring the fact he won’t get every bit of information instantainiously.

Then you toss in Iowa and expect some universal connection between the two even though Trump hasn’t had a chance to digest it all yet.

And even then, Iowa? LOL

You folks are still wanting vindication for something Ted already admitted to and apologized for.

But then Ted refused to apologize for other things didn’t he.

I would give Trump the benefit of the doubt on the original tweet just like I give Cruz’s campaign the benefit of the doubt on Iowa. I can’t give Trump the benefit of the doubt for the remarks he made in a rally several hours later after the quote was publically debunked and after Trumps own campaign had deleted their original tweet.

At a minimum Trump needs to immediately drop his tactic of attacking Cruz for Iowa because what Trump just did was much more aggregious given that the debunking of the fake quote had been known to his campaign before Trump personally repeated it in a televised rally.

Wow.
You think his campaigning right now is more hectic than caucus night in Iowa? I highly doubt that and yet you excuse trump for an easily fact checked lie but demonize Cruz for something he was likely completely unaware was happening.

I have given you a great deal of respect for your history of posts here. However, this IS exactly the kind of thing that Trump calls Cruz a liar, nasty, etc... For.

Will trump apologize and fire the staffer who fed him this lie?

They are like Chatty Cathy dolls, taking turns yanking each other’s plastic rings on their backs, but they only say two things:
“Cruz is good!” and “Trump is bad!” but they do it over-and-over-and-over.”

And vice-versa.
It's the new normal. It happens when personality is judged over policy, history and character.

“Your guy is a doo doo head and mine is better.”

Every teapot gets a tempest.

No...Trump did not lie....he used a wrong quote. He was wrong. And for that he should apologize for getting the quote wrong. He did not lie. To lie means that one personally KNEW the opposite was false. In the helter-skelter of the campaign Trump received a tweet that had the author’s words attributed to Sen. Coburn. Due diligence should have been done.

Now I understand the tweets have been deleted. Did Trump delete the tweet? Did a staffer? Did Trump actually re-tweet the tweet? Did he KNOW the tweet was wrong when he went on stage?

Now compare this to Cruz campaign and their actions in Iowa. I heard the actual news reports on CNN as they happened. The Cruz campaign jumped the gun or got over-zealous. Cruz apologized to Carson and Trump uses the whole incident to beat Cruz over the head with. If Trump apologizes to Sen Coburn, I imagine Cruz would beat Trump with that same stick.

It’s a bunch of hyperbole politics. Trump was mistaken and wrong and should apologize to Sen Coburn for getting that bit wrong. Cruz already apologized to Carson.

I would argue that the Iowa incident could be viewed a greater transgression in that it may (or may not) have affected the voting patterns.

Did Trump Lie? No...Did Cruz Lie in Iowa? No....

disclaimer. I support Trump, but if Cruz got the nomination, then I would vote for him in the general.

Anyway, that’s how I see it. Everyone is beating each other over the head with sticks, baseball bats and next they will be pulling out chains and knives.

Politics is more fun than soccer.

I have to say though. There are some VERY partisan supporters here on this board and I wish they would step back...relax...maybe play a little Glen Miller and stay away from the keyboard for a few hours and enjoy life. Heres a link one can download and enjoy the rest of the night: https://archive.org/details/GlennMillersArmyAirForceBand

There is no bigger liar I know than Donald J. Trump. He lies all the time. He’s just a big, fat liar. You forgot a word!!!

There is no bigger liar I know than the rich Donald J. Trump. He lies all the time. He’s just a big, fat liar.

None, because the mistake was understandable. It’s important to note that I never said he should while many of Trump supporters here, possibly including yourself, use that fact to demonize Cruz.

Why then do you not demand the same from Trump?
Maybe it’s because Ted is not a liar and didn’t steal anything. But it sure sounds like a great way to hurt the competition...

Who was with their staff on caucuss night, and who was on an aircraft flying across country today?

Didn’t Cruz or one of his PACs just yesterday state Trump was for abortion?

This abhorrence over Trump’s mistake is way overblown.

1 today’s offense wasn’t the night of an election and didn’t possibly swing the election

2 Trump wasn’t with his campaign crew today. He wa with a small crew going across country

3 I didn’t call for Cruz to fire anyone.

In the strictest sense of the sentence, it is true. Trump was for abortion.

I’ll accept his transformation as I experienced such a transformation as a young man.

Calling Cruz a liar for what he said is as incorrect as calling as Calling Trump a liar when he says Bush didn’t keep the country safe on 911. I will say that that by degree, Donald’s statement is far far worse.

Thanks, and I’ll simply mosey along and laugh at you.

You guys are delivering nothing burgers with stage antics that would embarrass most people.

I’m not buying what you are peeling.

And for the record, Trump is not por abortion.

And you didn’t know.

Have you ever heard Trump apologise, even for a deliberate lie? I woUld not hold my breath.

The unreasoning bias for Trump is shocking. He can openly lie and its ignored, while Cruz’s staff makes a justifiable mistake that turns out to be true a week later and the slander against Cruz never stops. It smacks of worship, and is chilling.

I highly doubt Trump did not ha e Cruz’s elegibility figured out the first night,he does have campaign staff lawyers. But he repeated for weeks the lie about Cruz’s inelegibility because it hurt Cruz saying “I don’t know but...”

He knew, but the lie served his purpose better than truth.

Trump lost me right there, the ends do not justify the means, Trump is duplicitous. And to my shock, so are his followers even in Free Republic. I feel like my own family has betrayed me.

It has been a rough month.

That has been my experience, as well. I am visiting other websites more frequently, now. I don't enjoy seeing good people needlessly insulted by boorish fools.

You’re living in a juvenile childish dreamland where anything Ted does is an accident and anything Trump does is cold calculating evil.

I don’t buy into this idiotic nonsense.

You can continue to if you like.
