Excuse me BUT Cruz was the #1 cheerleader for Roberts!!! Behind his nomination 1000% how could you possibly say he would NOT have nominated him!!!!
Cruz would have chosen Luttig over Roberts if the decision has been his- but Bush chose Roberts because of the lack of a record- and you see what we got- a compromised and blackmailed (for his shady adoption) Chief Justice who illegally gave us Obamacare.
Cruz would have appointed the man he fought for, Mike Luttig. Blame Bush for not taking Cruz’s advice.
He wasn’t a #1 cheerleader for Roberts. Cruz discussed last year two judges he would’ve appointed:

And A LOT OF REAL conservatives supported his nomination.
