Benedict would never resigned had he not felt it for the good of the Church.
You may not recall this, but a few months before he resigned, the World Court and various UN organizations were discussing charging and arresting the Pope for “covering up” child molestation or for being part of a criminal organization. This was actually approved, and then it disappeared.
I think BXVI was threatened, probably by Bergoglio, who wanted to be Pope and is in like Flynn with the UN, that if he did not leave the Papacy, Interpol would have a warrant for his arrest. He no doubt thought that Catholics would e destroyed to see the Pope under arrest. Notice that he has never left Vatican City, except to fly to Castel Gandolfo, or set foot on the territory of another state.
Bergoglio probably set this up, but in any case, I am very confident that Benedict would never have resigned for any personal reason but because he thought it was for the good of the Church.
LOL. There was a time when all popes were under arrest. When they stopped the problems started.
What exactly do you claim Ratzinger did?
Pope Francis has been far more lenient on abusers than his predecessor.
What could Bergoglio do?
Properly handling and addressing the many sexual violations by priests over the years would have been for the good of the Church, too, but Benedict didn't do that. Your noting that he doesn't leave Vatican territory, in light of the UN warrant, is very perceptive.
Pray harder, every time I think about it or read about it I just pray.
I could have gotten tickets to see him yesterday in Juarez and I gracefully declined and so did most of the people. We had 40 tickets and maybe 3 or 4 were taken.
