Geez, this article is all about ID’s. So these immigrants need ID’s to obtain services. Bet they don’t have voter ID laws.
Off topic, my accountant told me yesterday that due to high amount of tax fraud filings, the IRS may implement that you need to put a driver’s license number with your tax return for identifications purposes.
So you can’t pay taxes without a driver’s license? What about all those poor disenfranchised people who don’t have ID’s and who voter ID laws discriminate against.
Oh...nevermind. They don’t pay taxes.
Wisconsin DOES have a voter ID law, finally going into effect with this election after at least a 20 year battle. That is the whole reason for this Community ID law. Milwaukee wanted to issue community IDs and the Republicans wanted them to say “Not for voting purposes” (state IDs that can be used for voting are free and can be obtained from your Drivers’ License bureau). Milwaukee refused to add the disclaimer to the Community ID plus wanted the taxpayers to pay for them statewide. This law requires the “Not for voting purposes” to be added and prohibits anybody besides Milwaukee, or whichever community is issuing them, from paying for them.
You see, that’s the rub. The folks who want these community IDs want to use them for voting. That is why the protests from the Latino agitators.
