Be careful not to project onto Trump what you wish him to be rather than what he actually is. Trump has talked and acted like a Democrat for the past 20 years. Until 8 months ago he had liberal positions on immigration, abortion, and guns. He still has very liberal positions on taxes, healthcare, crony capitalism, and property rights.
Trump, Bush and Pataki are the only Republican candiates not to sign the taxpayer protection pledge. Every other candidate including moderates like Chrisite and Huckabee signed it.

Trump praised the Obama stimulus when it was proposed. He praised Hillary Clinton when she was appointed secretary of state. He says he has a great relationships with liberals like Schumer and Pelosi.

Trump has zero record of fighting for conservative causes, so why would he suddenly become a conservative warrior once in office? It's far more likley that he is taking token conservative positions just to make it through the Republican primary. After that, his underlying liberal instincts will be unleashed.
Yeah, I know. I love Cruz, but if he doesn’t make it and Trump does, I’ll support Trump in the general. I think Trump will be infinitely better for America that Hillary or Sanders.
