All love and support for our guys (my brother included), but I don’t know why we sent them there either. Middle East needs to handle (kill) itself and we need to leave them alone to blow themselves up.

You summed it up quite well.

Many supported it out of loyalty because Bush II was a pretenda-conservative Republican, knowing full well Saddam was keeping the region reasonably secure and that Iraq had little to no relationship to 9/11.

The Iraq war was a huuuuuuuuuuuuge mistake! So many of the nations finest young people died, disabled or emotionally scared for life. What worsens this tragedy is obama just giving the place away.

I hack Cheney s picture and signature

But he went along with bush’s refusal to defend himself. THAT is what allowed the liberal take on wmds to grow.

They blew it

Dick Cheney should go back and crawl under whatever rock he’s calling his home since 2008. The Bush administration’s actions in Iraq were indefensible no matter how much he tries to spin it today. If this wasn’t the case, then the Democrats never would have won control of Congress in 2006, his boss wouldn’t have left office with a 25% approval rating, and Jeb Bush wouldn’t be polling in the single digits today.

Dick Cheney, whose early driving career (back to back DUi’s) would make him a felon in the current climate.

Who then shoots somebody in the face while drinking, in office.

I’ll take a sober man, successful in the business world than a government War Profiteer.

... and the Little Green Footballing of Free Republic continues.

Richard Bruce Cheney is so evil that Satan himself looks to ol’ Dick for inspiration...

What you say is the indisputable truth, and I can deal with a lot of the BS from Trump, but his stance on this makes my blood boil, and that is precisely why: If Code Pink admires you, you are doing something very, VERY wrong, because there is not one single issue they have ever made a public statement on, ever, anytime, that I could not find myself in agreement with them on.

But you say the obvious fact that he is allied with Code Pink on this important issue, and it is amazing to see what comes out of the woodwork from conservatives.

This specific thing appalls me.

"... and the Little Green Footballing of Free Republic continues..."

And you get people like stormy_2021 and charleyspride who sign up here to post those types of things. They sound exactly like Code Pink or MoveOn.org types.

Exactly like them.

Makes you wonder about who they are and what they are doing on FR, doesn't it?

So, if I post something that you don’t agree with, I’m automatically labeled a rabble rouser..?

Do you try to get people zotted as a passtime..?

I may be new here, but I’ve been reading FR for years...

Rabble-rouser would be considered a compliment by many, and I did not label you as such.

What I take issue with is an ad hominem attack on someone you disagree with. If you had said that you disagreed with someone like Dick Cheney (of whom there is much valid to disagree with on the part of many people) I wouldn’t have batted an eye.

To come into a thread (as you did) about the coupling of Code Pink with anyone, and to use their vile lexicon as a contribution to a thread, yes, I have a major issue with that.

Did I email the Admin Mods to get you dotted? No. Did I suggest in any way you should be dotted? No.

I even included you as a recipient on my post when I stated factually that you and the other poster used the exact same type of verbiage in your attack that Code Pink and MoveOn.org use.

And just to be clear, I meant “zotted”, not “dotted”, but I’m sure you knew what I meant.

Someone with as much blood on his hands as Mr. Cheney ought to stay out of this discussion.

Trolls are one thing. You see ThinkProgress talking points and a 2015 sign-up date, you know what you’re dealing with. It’s seeing the old timers blindly following this pied piper and marching arm-in-arm with the trolls into oblivion that’s so tough to watch.

The good news is, it all ends in November. The bad news is, it doesn’t end well.

“He had a crazy policy of self-deportation, which was maniacal,” Trump said. “It sounded as bad as it was, and he lost all of the Latino vote ... He lost the Asian vote. He lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country.”

Romney first unveiled the “self-deportation” idea in a debate in January, explaining that he supported strict standards on employment that he claimed would force undocumented immigrants to return to their home countries.

That's because the Trump Tower, his new hotel in Dc, and many other Trump projects were (or are) built by illegals. Those strict standards Romney favored (I'd bet mine are even stricter) would have slowed down Trump's developments and made them cost him more.

As usual, it's not about the country, it's about Trump and his narrow self-interest.
