The next stops for Kasich are the primaries in New England. Vermont and Massachusetts, whose media markets at points overlap with New Hampshire, where Kasich practically lived for the past several months, both hold primaries on March 1. The Maine primary follows on March 5. Those around Kasich believe he can capitalize on his investment in New Hampshire with voters in those surrounding states. Kasich is scheduled to spend the day of the South Carolina primary in Massachusetts ...

Still, Kasich’s biggest target other than his native Ohio remains Michigan, which will hold its primary on March 8. Kasich’s advisers have long said he could do well in the Midwest, which votes later in the calendar but is littered with winner-take-all states. Of those, Michigan, with its 59 delegates, comes first ...

I met a Kasich supporter in South Carolina. Very nice, well spoken, well informed lady. She was the only one, in a week of doorknocking.

Why would you put MD in Kasich’s column. Maryland does not have open primaries; one registers for a party and is permitted to vote only in that primary. h

In Maryland, there are plenty of “moderate Republicans” who go to the same Chablis & Brie parties as their Democrat neighbors. These “moderates” do not want to associate with the “unwashed/hoi-poli” that are for Trump. They will vote Kasich to stay friends with Democrat neighbors.

If only Maryland would adopt the secret ballot. Then people could vote for whomever they wanted and tell their busybody neighbors the answer the neighbors want to hear.

From Texas- Cruz has a slight edge in most polls. If no one gets over 50 percent of the vote, then 70 percent of our electors go in a two to one ratio for the first and second place finishers. The other 30 percent are awarded at a state caucus later?
