Discusses turnout; red vrs. blue states; the electoral path.

My take: It's landslide or loose.

Good article.

Yeah, but all those other countries are very small. Percentages aren’t the best way to think of it.

Overall, millions upon millions more participate than the entire population of Sweden and New Zealand.

Long-term demographics are working against the GOP.

And the GOP establishment’s solution is commit suicide to make the Left happy.

We’re likely to see Democratic Presidents in perpetuity if Trump doesn’t win this year.

Could you elaborate?

What may save conservatism is national bankruptcy and the halting of the gravy train. Maybe the country will split and conservatives will have someplace to go.

Yeah, we may have the lowest turnout, but we by far have the highest deceased participation rate in the world

There is some hope that conservatives will re-enter the "liberal arts" segment of the economy.

Conservative organizations are fighting the good fight to allow conservatives to have a fair chance at university jobs.

Conservatives are making movies and occasional TV programs.

Conservatives who have trouble finding work, may end up as high school or elementary school teachers, etc.

The computer gaming industry seems to have its share of libertarians. It would be better if they were conservative, but libertarian is definitely a few steps above liberal and miles above socialist.

Steyn asserts that Trump will get the majority of these other guy’s supporters when they drop out but I don’t know how he figures that. I can see the Cruz supporters who are willing to go over to the Trump side do it very soon as the Rubio Bush-bump becomes apparent in the polls. After that, I don’t think Trump gets the majority of the rest, but I do think he gets enough.

Sadly, as the last two presidential elections demonstrate, the U.S. has more voters who are traitors than it has voters who are patriots. That does not bode well for the future of the U.S.

Interesting read. I feel sorry for the young people in our country who will someday have their votes nixed out by the flood of illegals imported by the Uniparty.

Pretty depressing.

The first George Bush ran on Reagan coattails. Reagan was SO popular and I fear we’ll never see the likes of that again. Mainly because of massive immigration.

Sad.

Altogether, a very depressing picture Steyn presents. But the takeaway is that there is a large segment of the latent electorate that can be swung into action. It’s conceivable that in this election counter trends may influence outcome beyond what could happen in countries that already have closer to full turnout.

Demographics is destiny. The way it’s going America is destined to be “Brown,” socialist, and poor. Enjoy!

I’ll read it but i really only want a 20% turnout of people that can articulate a case for voting for their candidate.

Long term, two things have to happen: America has to restore the integrity of its borders, and conservatism has to get a piece of the action in the schools and the culture. Short term, the GOP has done a grand job of screwing itself out of electoral viability.>>> i read it and he gets it. border, common core destroyed, va cared for. This is our our duty to those of us that did not serve to now serve them! we cannot survive as a country choosing to neglect you all. ss not touched for now, tax cuts. that is about all any president can accomplish in 8 years. the rest is just hooey.

All this wonderful LEGAL immigration sunk the conservative movement. Yet you still see people pop up out here who can’t get this simple fact through their heads. 80% of legal immigrants vote democratic.
