Has Cruz cast aspersions upon Trump’s sanity?

Remember when Trump called Cruz a “manic”? That came about as the result of a released audio of the comment made by Cruz to a group of donors about Trump’s judgment to handle the nuclear trigger. That was a slur that was used against Reagan. That comment ended the truce between the two.
Since then, it has been back and forth. Cruz has vocally and mockingly called Trump immature, saying his two little daughters are better behaved, etc. So Cruz and his supporters can not really assume the moral high ground in all of this.
I would assume last night’s accusation about Cruz being a liar was in response to Cruz saying on the O’Reilly show that Trump was in favor of citizenship for illegals, which of course, is a lie.
Trump’s m.o. seems to be that if you try to besmirch me, I will retaliate twice as hard.
It is obvious that Carson is still bitter at Cruz for his trying to steal his votes away by starting the rumor that Carson was dropping out in Iowa.
