GOP to Kasich: Get out
Politico ^ | February 23, 2016 | Kyle Cheney

The Republican establishment has a message for John Kasich: get out, and get out of Marco Rubio's way. A string of elected officials, GOP insiders and prominent donors officially threw their support behind Rubio on Monday, calling him their last chance to take down Donald Trump. Their statements had another common theme. Some explicitly called for Kasich to quit, while others sent the same message by saying the Ohio governor's ongoing presence is holding Rubio back.

I saw video of Rubio on O'Reilly.

He repeated the same thing 8 times, "What Americas are ready to support"

Code for Pathway to Citizenship for illegal immigrants.

Curious, since they have had Kasich as the go-to guy a few times.

Kasich was declared the establishment winner of the 2nd debate.

Kasich made a strong showing in NH.

Of course, the establishment are starting to have a similar problem conservatives had in previous elections — too many candidate possibilities. They are now wanting to put all of their support and $$$$ toward one and they have selected Rubio as that one.

==

Not sure how Rubio ‘youthful exuberance’ will play to the general public.

Not sure how Spanish-speaking Rubio had different plans than English-speaking Rubio. Those will make for interesting commercials.

Not sure how Marko the Rubiobot will play.

Kasich is certainly a better choice than Rubio. Kasich is truly natural born, there is no question whatsoever about his eligibility. If for some reason Trump withdraws, Kasich is the only reasonable choice left.

We should donate to Kasich to keep him in awhile longer to offset the putz Rubio. The smarmy used car salesman just announced he will not attend CPAC. We have a skunk progressive in our midst being pushed by the establishment and Fox News (I repeat Myself) and his name is Marco.

But Rubio is the choice of GOPe. If there was ever any doubt look at the people that have come out for him since Jebra dropped out.

This will be interesting.

Have we ever seen either party attack their own front runner, the way the GOP is doing to Trump?

I know the Republican party insiders hated Reagan, but I don’t recall it being so overt and public, as it is in this election.

It’s just amazing to watch Trump fight off jackals and hyenas on his own side. Of course, they only have the appearance of being on a ‘side’. They’re really a part of their own elitist set.

Kasich is at least competent but Rubio is downright dangerous.

“Cruz is screwed, and he did it to himself. His strategy was flawed going in, thinking he could pull together enough small constituencies to get all the conservatives, libertarians, evangelicals, etc who stayed home in 2012. And then along came Trump...”

This sums it up nicely.

“Duncan Hunter Jr or Tom Cotton”

At least with either one of them there would be a conservative on the ticket.

“Have we ever seen either party attack their own front runner, the way the GOP is doing to Trump?”

1980, against Reagan, especially in the early going.

My guess is Trump picks someone like himself - an outsider to the uniparty.

Two middle fingers to the GOPe

Kasich is a huge moderate. He won’t even get elected here in Ohio. Ohio is not doing as well as he claims it is.

Kasich is running for VP. No way he gets out until someone makes him a promise. He can deliver Ohio and the weak-kneed wimp vote. And the mailmen....

“Florida or ... Ohio? Trump’s VP will be from either one of those states.”

I’m not sure that Trump be ill need to choose a running mate from either of those states in this election.

The dynamics that normally influence general elections have changed. The dynamics of the population itself have changed. Nothing about our electoral dynamics is working as normal. I think we’re in uncharted territory here.

I know. I cited the GOP’s war on Reagan.

I just think the war against the front runner is more blatant and overt in this election.

I would not be surprised to see Trump cut a deal to send Cruz to the Supreme Court and take the that nerve racking Son of a Mailman as his VP and send the Rube back to Florida to sell used cars.
