In the article, my senator, Sen Portman is quoted as saying: “”I think we should not confirm someone this year, I think we should let the people weigh in,” said Sen. Rob Portman, a vulnerable Republican up for reelection from the battleground state of Ohio. “The credibility of the court will be enhanced by that, too.””
I wrote him earlier and got a fairly quick response, yesterday I believe. He said essentially the same thing. Leave it up to the voters in November.
The truth is that I don’t think Portman will be vulnerable in Ohio come the fall.
This is one of two things that McConnell can do to help commute his sentence to Hell.
The second is for him to resign when Donald Trump is sworn in as President.

Should anyone question this, Mitch needs to play a tape of both Obama and Biden saying the same thing. Play it over and over.

2. The Senate Judiciary committee never schedules a confirmation hearing on the nominee.
3. Nothing happens.
4. At the end of the current session of Congress (early January 2017) the nomination expires, unless re-submitted.
