Sounds like his price to cave is going to be exceptionally high this time. Everything is negotiable, though.
Sure they will. They’re not called the stupid party for nothing. Not it http matters....president trump’ s (or Hilary’s) appointment will be as bad as obamas
And Mitchell you also MUST guard against a recess appointment. Why that’s legal is an outrage.
The cave-in will be in a matter of weeks.
I'm not sure about the committee phase and who controls that.
Obama’s approval rating is under 50% in every poll......the American people don’t want him getting a third pick!
translation: The donor class has spoken. They insist Citizens United must be upheld. So I have to do this, cause it’s what they paid me to do.
McConnell would never grow a spine for ANY other reason.
They are over paid, liars and crooked as the road is curved, only in there for ‘their’ good, not ours and certainly not for the betterment of America and her people...
In the article, my senator, Sen Portman is quoted as saying: “”I think we should not confirm someone this year, I think we should let the people weigh in,” said Sen. Rob Portman, a vulnerable Republican up for reelection from the battleground state of Ohio. “The credibility of the court will be enhanced by that, too.””
I wrote him earlier and got a fairly quick response, yesterday I believe. He said essentially the same thing. Leave it up to the voters in November.
The truth is that I don’t think Portman will be vulnerable in Ohio come the fall.
This is one of two things that McConnell can do to help commute his sentence to Hell.
The second is for him to resign when Donald Trump is sworn in as President.
Het, Mitch. Maybe you could put a wee word in the ears of some of your wobbly caucus colleagues who are not toeing the line.
Should anyone question this, Mitch needs to play a tape of both Obama and Biden saying the same thing. Play it over and over.
1. The President delivers a nomination to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
2. The Senate Judiciary committee never schedules a confirmation hearing on the nominee.
3. Nothing happens.
4. At the end of the current session of Congress (early January 2017) the nomination expires, unless re-submitted.
Great news, if true.
Hopefully, the Congressional medical plan pays for McConnell’s testosterone and backbone restoration shots.
The Biden Rule is back!
The Republicans have shown that they respect the wishes of the President of the Senate, Vice President Biden...
The DemoncRats should be thrilled.
I’ll give McConnell credit where credit is due.
Good job Mitch.
For future reference - If you had maintained this kind of spine since 2008, Donald Trump would still be running a reality TV show.
So now, the Rats in the Senate will move to “Shut Down the Government”tm, blaming the GOP for the Shutdown, and in response, Turkey Neck will fold like a cheap suit.
